have you dug too the dog before this??? surely you would know if he is at 1 or not....ie.. sounds banging difference in bark slight movement as you dig????..and if you have dug to the dog more than once and this is happened...only way to put your mind at rest dig 1 ,,,put it to ground go to the van get your terrier and try...that way you know exactly what is going on..and if he walks after ten he doent like...if you dig him and quarry not there right with him you know he laying off his quarry...really up to you what you do with him then...hope this helps atb ..stopend

Hi Mosby Having been a regular visitor to the USA for the past 21 years, sometimes 2, 3 and 4 times a year. I've hunted a number of the different quarry species you mention with terriers, in a variety of different States, in lots of different company, along with some of your larger quarry with hounds (bear etc) and I think your description of terrierwork on that side of the “Pond” reflects my own experience entirely. terrys son still has russells....dont know him personally like but i know a man who does and is trying to wrangle a pup lol.... ha i have known of some russell pups out of these lines too be dead at 18 months... noo reverse and demon noses...also seen other russells not from terrys lines but from a few other well known russell mens stuff and easily single handidly killed foxes on a regular basis

well i know a few men keep russells with these lines that can go [bANNED TEXT] back to 78 i think ...of course he bred high priced borders once word got round but sure hey a lot of the old timers did... sold pups for big money i mean....didnt mean to say they kept there proper working stuff outa site ... well i have seen some a this stuff and lets just say if the men digging the black dogs seen the right 1s too then they wouldnt be so quick me thinks to judge the russells ...

went to try a place 1 time...had the dog on lead as i walked upo to it as sheep everywhere...was goind to take the lead off him heard a few whimpers coming from the hole...turned out an old collie bitch had been using the burrow with a litter of pups with her.
