TRU OIL
-
Right it all comes down to what kind of finish you want different oils for different stocks tru oil ,,,,,,,,,this will give it a high shine depending on how many coats you apply you can get it like glass if you wanted or apply a few coats and wire wool it back a little this will give it a matt finish like Marks 77 above Tung oil,,,,,,This is for walnut stocks but can be used on beach but the first coat has to be put on by hand and lots of it rub the oil in to the stock and leave to dry now this first coat will sink into the stock and act like a base coat for the rest of the

I did that 77 in tru oil then gave it a light rub over with 0000 wire wool to give it a matt finish tru oil has to be put on with a lint free cloth fold it into a tight square and apply by starting from the butt pad all the way to the top of the stock and come back down the same line this will remove any excess tru oil gives a shiny finish but if you wire wool it back once dry you can get it to look like a matt finish then give it a rub over with bee,s wax and buff off this will protect the stock but give it a little shine ill buy that 77 back one day Mark atvbjimmy

Classic MK2 HW 77 long.
bigmac 97kt replied to mark williams's topic in Rifle Reviews, Technical Help and Tips
In all honesty Dev if you shot that 77 you would not give it back mate i know that 77 like the back of my hand its fitted with a SFS stage 2 tuning kit and the stock is stunning (I should know i did it the stock i mean) gave it a matt finish . You see the rifle was mine and as Mark has sayd its taken some vermin for us both and Jon Jon had it before us she is as close to a pcp as you can get with a spring rifle . atvbjimmy PS,,,,and your right it dose weigh a bit by its self lol -
The Pro Sport is the last to be done.
bigmac 97kt replied to mark williams's topic in General Airgun Discussion
Pro sport ,,,,what can i say My first one the CROW SPORT as rez nicknamed it and the all the lads called it after that lol was one hell of a rifle and deadly accurate in my hands , yes there a lump to carry around but fit in the fore hand just right some hate them some love them same with every rifle i suppose . A little story Viz my shooting partner hated them he had just bought a brand new lefty tx 200hc one morning and we both hit the crows one afternoon in lambing season every shot out of the crow sport was a hit while viz was every other shot with the tx i p -
Think you need to clean the fecking gun you little twat
-
Right de,grease it and re, apply the grease Now this can be a pain in the ass IE if it twangs then you will need to take it apart again and add a little more each time un till its right Is there a smell of grease burning when you fire the rifle is there smoke coming out of the barrel if so it is dieseling and to much grease on the spring if you did it your self did you grease the piston (the piston seal only needs a touch of grease and very little on the piston ) When you had it apart did you clean the spring chamber out of all old grease . Check the breach

As long as you stay away it will be all the better for it all you will go on about any way will be slugs and pellets

Bluing ,,,,,looking at the pics it dont look to bad better pics would help . But if it dose need done then hears what to do Strip it all down and i mean all down every thing apart put the screws and washers in a tub to keep them safe then you will need a bench grinder or drill wire wheel attachment but the grinder with a wire wheel fitted is best strip all the old blueing off ,,every thing mind put a set of gloves on just the ones nurses and docs use the reason for this is the oil your hands produce will go on the action and the blueing will not take
