  1. Earth that's ironic as I'm in the army and my birthday is on the 24th! Good luck mate hope it's a success
  2. A lot has been said about blokes getting conned on this site, so I thought I'd mention that in the last few weeks I have bought items from mrpit and whippetboy, both nice blokes and both items arrived quickly without any hassle. Maybe there should be some sort of list for guys that are genuine?
  3. ^^^^ But having said that, I do agree
  4. David Cameron is too weak to fight the EU, so I don't see it happening. I think if you go to a country to work you should at least learn the language, and as for claiming benefits, well if you've never paid taxes then stick that idea up your arse. If more Brits got off theirs and stopped claiming benefits then maybe this wouldn't be such a problem...
  5. They can be Dane, but as I said many stalkers who shoot .338 reload, and for close range work (especially woodland), by all accounts a slow heavy bullet is best as it results in very little meat damage.
  6. Yes David that's the one with a sound moderator every now and again. I would definately look into it, the main thing for me is that even at longer ranges the .338 is very slippery, doesn't seem to be affected as much by wind. So wether hunting or target shooting, I would say it offers you confidence to stretch the range that bit further, and as I already mentioned if you reload then you can have that flexibility regarding ammo.
  7. Have you considered the .338 calibre? I've used a lot of 7.62 but I understand it's different from .308, the BC of .338 is unbelievable, I understand you can also homeload to make a slow, heavy round for close range deer work, but for longer ranges, especially targets, I definately think it's gaining popularity.
  8. Can't comment from a civilian point of view, but I use one in .338 and consistently hit targets out to 1200m. The system itself is worth the money, and I'll be getting one in a few years. We use schmidt and bender scopes, and I must say even though the calibre is different, the difference between it and our old rifle is amazing. Hope this sort of helps.
  9. Nice going mate, I've read some good things about Cleveland plod. Lothian and Borders took 6 months to grant my shotgun ticket. I won't need an FAC for another few months, but might put it in now so i'm in with a chance of getting it before next christmas!
  10. ^^^^ f*****g right mate, well said. Seems alot of people have strong opinions without basing them on anything. I was 18 on my first tour, 19/20 on my second and 21 on my third. I might have had a ''kids mentality'' back then but I grew up very quickly, and I can say I always did the best I could in any situation. PTSD is defined as ''A normal reaction to an abnormal experience''. Such as seeing your section commander blown in half. A lot of our lads have symptoms of it and other stress related illnesses but we all wanted to go out there and do the job, it doesn't mean that those who wanted to
  11. If I could get to you I'd have it... Need a full set up gutted
  12. I was told yesterday not to bother doing it by an experienced stalker. I agree that nothing beats experience. But I will still do it. Why? Because I want to learn things in an environment that is better than just Reading books. I want someone to tell me where I'm going wrong, before I take a shot that wasn't perfect and possibly injuring a deer. A lot of places won't let you shoot without doing your DSC1/2 (especially syndicates), so once you've done it, you've done it. Having said that, I have shot for 10+ years, mostly section 5 weapons, so I think the shooting test can be binned for someone
  13. I thought juk can also mean man? So if someone said ''i'm gonna Carib the juk'' they mean they're gonna fight someone...

  16. I'd do time if I caught them. Can't stand gutless dirty horrible b*****ds who do things like this.
  17. 20 for the lot? Or each?
  18. Hiya mate, if swords machetes etc are available online then i don't see what would be wrong with it. I am not sure exactly what knives they are (dimensions), but as they are Gerber and part of a gift set, I wouldn't worry about it. It would classed as more of a 'collectable' item rather than 'offensive weapon' (though I wouldn't carry anything like that around with me in public). I can only assume that eBay refuse to sell knives/blades because they dont want to be caught up in a moral/ethical media frenzy if someone were to purchase a knife and use it illegally. Also, check what is legal regar
  19. Read 'King of the Gypsies' by Bartley Gorman. Quite alot of info about boothboxers, his uncle was killed by a travelling boxer (Sid Roper I think), at a wedding. Hard men back in the day by all accounts, most would fight bareknuckle/gloved up/anyway you wanted it. Another guy would go to fairgrounds with a bucket, and place it at his feet with a sign offering anyone 3/5 hits for a pound. He was never knocked out. He also did this at trainstations when squaddies were returning from leave etc. Tough blokes, got alot of respect for them from what I've heard.
  20. Cheers for the advice. Yes you could make a killing (no pun intended!) if you had land available. I am about to start my DSC1 and looking into a few more courses over the course of the next year... Just so everyone's aware I am not considering doing this myself, at the time being anyway, just wanting to know what people think. Cheers LordGamebore, Dan.
  21. hey mate , i know your keen at this moment in time but this is your third addvert and i think it is time to get real , placing addy's on here is not going to get you where you want to be just take a chill pill and wait to see if anything comes along regards john I appreciate your advice John, the reason i have posted 3 is because after reading through a few others, i realised that alot of people missed out information about themselves which others would want to know, so i decided to do one last post with everything anyone would want/need to know. I am out and about still, and i kno
