  1. I could get a loan of a bore scope or meet the seller at a rfd to have it bore scoped if they agreed, I just don't want to waste my time as the gun is not local
  2. That was my thoughts aswell, it also looks like the threads are corroded , seller said barrel is perfect & it shoots perfectly accurate ' but God knows , what sort of price would a replacement barrel be ?
  3. No rubbing, put it in a plastic bag spay it & leave for 10 minutes, another spray then run it under a tap, then dry it & spray with ptfe or wd, stops it clogging up again
  4. What's people's thoughts on this ? A tikka t3 lite .223 ? I know the cause of it , is it walk away or shorten & re crown
  5. You are not the first person to say that recharging the howa, a good friend also advised me to look at the tikka , I will take it on board before parting with money . Thanks for the heads up
  6. I'm sure dave is going to do me a good favour !!!
  7. Well since I've had my fac & sgc, I've found that I've never used my fac airgun, so the decision to sell it & replace it with something that will be of more use to me, my 22lr does everything & more than the .25 fac air done & I prefer to use the 22lr, the 17hmr is a pleasure to use & has a use, so variation in now for .223 & sound mod, 1 for 1, put myself a nice howa 1500 away at the rfd, so it's just a waiting game waiting on the phone call to collect my licence back from the local police station.

  9. Now that will be a good read, enjoy it mate
  10. Interesting this section of the topic to me, I'm thinking about putting in for a variation, mainly for dedicated fox, I had my mind set on 22-250, but after a visit to a couple of rfd I think I'm more likely to go 223 or just go 243, due to the ammo choice of 22_250 ; I was also advised that after 600 rounds plus a new barrel will be required on the 22-250, not sure if this is true ! So my mind set was 223, then when I looked at ammo costs, there's nothing in it between 223 & 243 , so I may just go 243 that will be the correct calibre for deer if I decide to go that way & more th
  11. Upgraded my thermal spotter! Still using the nv007 & nv008 phil
  12. Never got out , wind was blowing 35 / 40 mph westerly, no good for where I was heading, but I hope it's still blowing a bit in the morning, away on the pigeons , semi auto is ready to go & plenty clear pigeon 32g 6s .
  13. Another for Blackwood outdoors, bought a new thermal from him yesterday, delivered today , very good service.
  14. Good luck David, hope it pays dividends! If the wind drops a bit I'm off out ! 30mph gusts at the moment

  16. Wrong section, you lot should know better
  17. Enjoy it, I've just sold my nv008lrf, I prefer my original 008 with separate rangefinder mounted, I like the rats tail for the rangefinder, either way there good units.
  18. All the best to all, enjoy the festive time, but don't forget to get out there doing what we enjoy rather than sitting in house , eating , drinking & watching all the sh1te that's on the tv.
