if your dog cant kill fox on its own then dont slip on them slipping two on a fox doesnt mean to say its going to be any easyier the dog that gets the fox would have any how and the other may get into it or not but two dogs on it will result in 1 or both getting injuries as dog s try to claim fox for their self in most cases the fox is pulled between both and its this that gets them bitten if you training pup to take fox far better to wait till fox is dead then let young dog have a rag about on dead fox

i think that a dog that pull teeth and then gets as much stick as it is giving out and still goes all out to kill its prey then goes back into same quarry very next slip and do it allover again on a fresh catch as got the prey drive and the gameness it takes a good game dog to take time and time again a quarry that is going to give pain and injuries dont matter how good the dog is at handling them at times it will get hurt and goes back for more

just my own view on todays dog but how can they have improved when the prices for dogs as gone through the roof and lot of dogs now being bred just because they are the breed of the moment and not on the parents working ability 20 years ago the hunting scene was working dog to working dog and you got better dogs at working mans prices now its the in thing to have latest fashion type and people not botherd about bloodlines thinking its got to work as everyone got them dogs back then were hardy and would take more nights out on the lamp these days they pampered and lot driven on fields toss -

to me the dogs getting bred mostly for money today and not for their pot filling abilites i started in late 1980s and the dogs then where in my opinion were more bred to work their chossen game but now dogs being put together as its the latest craze and nowa days you see the bullx and saluki type back then it was the deerhound x and collie cross things can only get worse with the ban as people leave the sport or turn into armchair poachers and breeders of poor or no ability dogs together for the sake of money their are still some good dogmen who breed to fill pot and cotinue their -
i think that a dog that rattles hedges after game hasnt done to much lamping as most dog except the fool hardyb learn to presure the thing to turn of the hedges or make good their escape a dog that his crashing hedges is going to get some nasty cuts ive chased a lot of hare pre ban and they to me to only go as fast as the dog chases them just keeping that one step a head some of these saluki croses seem to enjoy the chase and seem to let them run and run only taking when they have got the hare fcked yet others strom them not giving the hare a chance my own dogs just wave as the hare goe

hi banjo mate i read an artical on the standard poodle and it said they are a easy to train dog and have very high iq lot of circus people trained them to do alsorts mate so would add brains to the mix their are some pups on the preloved site mate never heard of anyone running one but another advantage is their coats as poodles dont moult like other dogs

you cant beat the 5/8 /3/8 bull cross mate catch out and still have the wind in it to finish it of that or a3/4 grey collie brains plus speed
-
you might get the pup to be stock broke till the next time your out wth a dog that looks any where near lambs or sheep and the memory comes back and bang their goes number 2 its only my view but its now to late for you to ever call the dog stock broke collars and retraining cant take away the fact that it as took alamb or been involved in its death to choices get plenty mint sauce in or run only on arable fields which to be honest is a bit of a bummer
-
seen 1 old english bull x greyhound xwhippet was good hard bitch but not very people friendly but could have been just it also seen staff whippets bit small but some are game little gits to me the only bull type to use is the p ]bull them johnsons american bulls to me are to heavy and a lot more dosicle than p bull
-
get a 5/8 grey 3/8 bull mate.. more versatile and will do all you can ask if you do your homework. good luck.. a bull x in the wrong hands or not trained right is disaster waiting to happen if it doesnt have the correct handling could end up being a real pain while hunting and you might find u not have many hunting friends to go out with learn to crawl before you walk and try a collie cross or whippet type bullx no novice dogs
