    lot of good comments for and against lamping from motor as ive had to lamp from motor last season as leg was still acting up have seen that you can get more done in 1 night and get far better bags of quarry but i still think the old walking up on gear best ive seen some scary near misses with car and my dogs and to be honest the price of fuel ben so high limits the amount of times i personaly can go out per week in the ideal world id love to drive couple nights a week then walk acouple nights i think it takes awhile for your dogs to ajust to lamping from car and would think it very hard

    to be honest all my lamping is poaching and im always carefull to only drive on land that is not ocupied by stock as i said i broke me leg and had to drive to get out but hope to return to walking when leg is ok we use a defender and mostly lamp from roadside then slip dogs out the bback on quiet country roads

    i have had the pleasure of owning two very good fox dogs the first was a 5/8 3/8 hancock bred beardi border greyhound of hancocks enock this dog was called tarn and tok 4 fox on many a night in and a round essex and up the northeast he would also take bambi same day as taking 4 fox on lamp pre ban r i p tarn the second dog was fred a bull x greyhound a well thought of dog in his day would take as many fox as you could get up on pre ban he could also take all game loved the teeth and he also gone now these two dogs were the real deal pre ban true game dogs rip fred never to be forggotten

    right lads what do you think of the modern lampers who dont tend to walk any more and go of road in 4x4 motors ive tried both myself and to be honest walking is the best way but can see the advantages of the 4x4 lampers and at present im also driving fields as i broke my leg in two places while out walking fields lamping 18 month ago and its still not right so rather than stop im driving but love the old way and will get back to it asap
