  1. if you set on keeping and flying birds ov prey you should be prepared to travel as you have to to find ideal place to fly train your bird also buying equipment and food and when you dunn all that you might travel miles and miles for that right bird so travel is a must
  2. hi lads any keepers or farmers land owners in durham or in northeast that could offer me and my ten year old son the chance to fly our male and female harris hunting only crow rabbits and any other vermin you deem as pests would be great land fences and all property will be respected only birds taken on to land no guns dogs or owt else just hawks cheers for at least reading this

  6. to all the northeast hunting lads malcolm has sadly past away he was a well known bloke in the terrier and lurcher scene in and a round crook and northeast england i as am sure all the lads in northeast send our heart felt sympathys to his family rip old buddy funeral is on saturday 13th april 12noon at crook church

  8. ive a male 4 yearold harris he is giving me sleepless nights and headaches i bought him late october and he was straight out of aviary fromnd his weight was 1lb 10 oz he was flown lastyear at 1lb 6 and flew well he is well manned up and will jump to fist in mews and on lawn up to 6 feet and no more will ignore my calls to come and no tempting him to come works he is at 1lb 4oz and ive spent hours with him he feeds great on fist and is as keen as owt to come when offered food but as i say 6foot ive been in contact with previous owner and he as even given me the birds hunting and manag
  9. had a mooch out with the mutt lastnight lads up hexham way the fields were still very wet and not alot to run in fact we got nowt but the crack was good and we found acouple of spots worth a look at next time out i dont have a dog to catch them longears but ive noticed this year seems to have been a good year for them their every were must have seen 50 plus lastnight not my cup of tea would make me dog look silly if it ever chased one only seen two fox alnight lamp shy fckers and few bunnies by it was cold wi me baldy head stuck out window alnight the joys of lamping

  11. to the genuine hunting lads falconers and dog lads half the trouble these days is loads of the younger hunters dont want to help each other out when i first started out 25 plus years ago you could go see the local lads in the area and they were only to happy to help out with advice and time these days if you ask for anything your chance of help is slim the knockers and the people who think your on the make fly out of the wood times of changed and not always for the good i think it also depends on the area you live country folk and old pit village peple are still willing to help yo
  12. hi mate it goes without saying my bird wants for nowt i am unemployed and have saved up to buy freezer glove bow perch and if my bird needed vets or vital equpment it would be some how paid for i was asking for tools to make my own gear as its good tobe able to make stuff to your birds size and needs as it costs a lot of time and money getting ready made stuff thats all pall as ive said ive saved and got vital gear and my harris is in fine condition im not the type to keep things without the means to feed and care for them people on here quick to judge you but if they new the perso

  16. hi luke was out lastnight in defender 90 stuck in mud for 4 hours and had to get draged out of field but its the joys of off roading in landys but was good till then plenty good runs
  17. im restarting up with bop ie harris hawks and would be very gratefull to anyone for any old or unwanted gear i no its a lot to ask but owt that could help would be so gratefully recieved i packed up ayear ago after my pair of harrises killed each other and gave my entire equipment to a novice keeper but after much thinking ive started back up and am trying to obtain some much needed leather tools and bits of gear and with my funds being tight at this time would be gratefull for any help thanks yours in sport coney clucky
  18. victor minshaw dogs are just lurcher to lurcher bred dogs of the best dogs in his area lot of greyhound was in them mainly long ears and bambi dogs some but few did the teeth and claw loads of so called mishaw bred dogs about but very little truth in it as said before vic bred nowt in a long time theirs a bloke up near wigton got a 10 year old dog called viking thats got some of vics old line in him and is still mating bitches now and again the chap who owns him used to go out with victor and hunt the dogs longtime back and thats the only mishaw dog ive seen and no is the real
  19. cant understand why people would want to breed this cross for the very idea of keeping this type would put me of keeping lurchers the ones ive seen in the feild working are not very fast and tempremental nice pups them but what percentage of waistage will their be and ive a pet hate of lurchers with pricked up ears as most of this cross have but hey good luck with them mate

  21. alright lads this is for the lads who hunt round durham area yesterday morning i lost my african grey parrot lads while cleaning the dogs out noticed he was out on top of his cage went to try get him back in and he took of towards allotments at gilesgate end of sherburn road durham i no this is a doggy site but im a lurcher ladnd would take any help i can get in getting the family pet back cheers lads and good luck hunting this season keep you informed
  22. while looking for a palls dog which had jumped its pen and went walk about later returned i visited the kennels and was amazed at how many lurchers they had in and while talking to kennel hand was told that sadly very few get rehomed or their owners found their was a couple of lovely looking lurchers that were clearly still very young very puppy like collie types and a couple that had clearly seen a bit of work it seems clear that these dogs had been in kennels a while as they looked bored to bits and the youngsters would be stil young enough to settle in and train up the kenel
