ya might be in luck with that one, a friend of mine keeps lurchers, we're always discussing crosses... and his wife has a black standard poodle... once i've got a more permanent home sorted, we're clubbing together to get a greyhound bitch, and breed a litter of poodle x greyhounds! speed, stamina, brains, and a damn fine coat with it!

14 year old ways, round here - white dog shit was still pretty common until i was about 10. i'm in norfolk, we take a while to catch up to these new-fangled trends...

my first saluki x grey again. 29 1/2", big flopply lugs, do anything for ya. or my saluki/grey x beddy/whippet/grey. lost to lepto 15 years ago. on the new dog front, i'm quite interested in getting a springer x greyhound. or at some point in the (fairly distant) future, crossing my saluki x grey with a whippet. if time & money were no object, i'd breed a bergamasco sheepdog/greyhound x greyhound. that would make one loyal, clever, reasonably speedy dog, with a really interesting coat on it!

just put my real name in, got "ACE A THE MINK WORK", "A WHACKER ME KIT ON" first one for "ditch shitter" was "ITCHED THIRST", and most of th rest had "TIT" in em! "lurcherbitch" was less successful, "RICH HERB CULT"

switching all my animals to raw food at the moment, only one i'm having problems with is my 6 year old ferret, who just won't touch meat. i guess she's been on dry for most of her life, she just doesn't know what to do with a bit of rabbit! i mainly feed roadkill, plenty of muntys & pheasants round here, so it's a pretty steady supply. quick drive round the roadkill hotspots late on a saturday (after the pubs chuck out) gives me enough to last a week. the dog merrily crunches on the bones, and the cat purrs twice as loud when she sees me filling up her bowl with raw! planning to get a terr

cheap but good working terrier diet
Ossie replied to deltor's topic in Working Dog Health & Training Talk
that acronym will never cease to amuse me - "barf" being a US term for throwing up... -
Croà (pronounced Kree). tis the Gaellic word for "Heart". or how about Madra (mah-dhra)? just means "dog"!

how old is he now? he's getting a helluva size! my dad has some mini western saddles knocking about thw place, i think he was gonna turn them into seats for his harleys, but i can have a word if you like!

good topic! i've been thinking about this cross for a while, i've had people say they're bloody awful, and people say they're brilliant. the only first hand experience i have of springers is the mad one my parents had when i was little, which had to be put down when i was 3 because it hated me, and tried to rip the wire off the run to get at me but that hasn't put me off them (years of therapy were needed though! ) anyone else got any pics or experience of springer/greyhounds? i'm seriously considering one for my next lurcher (won't be for a while though, next dog will be a terrier, once

brown sauce, HP, especially on an egg butty. once made an egg sarnie, then realised there wasn't any HP in the house, and drove to the shop to buy some!! i'm also hooked on "Delikatess" mayonnaise, from LIDL. and i've got all my friends hooked on it too.

PMSL! them pensioners can be vicious! i met some right rude old buggers on my post round, got a handful of gravel to the head for daring to shortcut across this miserable old gits lawn rather than go the long way round on the path!

that's my kind of pup! good, solid-looking little thing, and a docked tail coming on nicely.
-
i'd rather not take the chance with my animals! plus, a munty on the pavement on a city road? especially in the posh bit of the city ? you do have to exercise a little caution.
-
i'm a bit wary about that too now, after reading stuff on the forum. but i just eat a bit myself, and if i feel shitty, i chuck the rest! found a munty buck on the side of the road coming out of norwich last night, got it hung in the bathroom, i'll give it 4 days, then try a bit... and keep an eye on the local news, just in case! had a right good haul last night, the munty in norwich, then driving through the woods i found a hare, a rabbit, 3 pigeons and a pheasant. damn, my animals ate well last night!

at 5 months, your pup is still growing into his feet. my saluki/grey has quite long feet, and i swear they change shape week to week, depending on what we're doing! i spoke to a saluki breeder at a show, and she said that salukis should have feet like a cats'. although, logically, you'd think bigger feet were better for running on sand? i wouldn't worry too much about it at the moment, let him grow, start some road walking, if they don't change much, then that's how they're supposed to be!

lol, thanks! but only minister for education? nah. i'm after the top job! i'll straigten this country out! as daft as i usually am, my friends regard me as the most hardworking, upstanding person they know. i've always worked, like a loony sometimes (5 jobs at one point!), but i've become a very angry, politically disillusioned little person of late. the government & local council are doing their best to crap on every area of my life, and damn, I'M PISSED OFF! i'm 23, i work full time, i pay a fortune in tax, yet i'm still skint, and facing being homeless in a couple of months. but becaus

"point & laugh" time! my trusty old G-reg Escort, had her for 2 years, have done about 25,000 miles in her, and apart from some welding for the mot's, and a new clutch last year (the first one lasted her from new), she's never needed more than a bit of oil & water. i've only got her stuck once, and that was in the carpark of my local! went to park, tractors had been backwards & forwards over the grass all day, and it was pissing down, got thoroughly stuck. then someone pulled in behind me in a nissan navara, and got stuck too... had to push them out, and then get them to

was discussing this with 2 of my best friends last night. both of whom, if anyone from here saw them, would be assumed to be liberal pot-smoking antis. and the result of the discussion? "why don't they say that kind of thing in this country?!?!" we then spent the next 5 hours putting the country to rights, coming up with my manifesto for my attempt to take over the country! we came up with (not that it'll ever happen) - *the australian policy towards immigrants *immediate repeal of the hunting act, followed by a national hunting day, and a national coursing day, where every hunt &am

i've got 2 of mine in a big rabbit hutch/run thing, hutch sits over the top of a run that's about twice the size. ideal setup for them. another 2 have a big hutch made of pallets, very sturdy, but it weighs a ton! my girls are temporarily in a small hutch, currently building a new hutch for them, will post some pics when it's done (i'm right in the middle of building it now, got bits of wood all over the garden!)

i need to get my scanner back from mums'. got a pic of me with my first ferret, a big albino hob called Norman (i have no idea why i called him that, but i was only 6 when i got him!). soppy as anything, i used to take him for walks all the time, dad worked him, and one of the local pubs used to do an annual ferret race, he was always the fastest there. he was the only one who didn't nod off in the pipes! he got used to flush out the ferrets that had fallen asleep. little cracker, all my dads current ferrets are descended from him, as is one of mine (equaly soppy!). he was great fun at the ra

that's brilliant! one of those "now why the hell didn't i think of that?" moments!

5' of baler twine, with a loop at each end. cheap but does the job!

Ossie; You've mentioned this before. I asked ye then if ye could please furnish me with some authorative referance to it. Ye never did. Now ye saying it again and I'm asking again; Please substanciate this claim, seemingly promalgated by the vet in question. Only I know I ~ and I imagine a fair few others among us ~ would dearly love to know of its existance. Thankyou. sorry Ditch, if i did mention it before, i don't remember! i was probably on the JD at the time... :drunk: anyways, i have the dogs vaccination papers in front of me, but vets are like doctors, you can't

i'm getting on to the local council tomorrow, think i'm gonna have to convince them i'm nuts to get on the priority list. shouldn't be too hard!! putting adds up all over the place too "eccentric young female seeks roof & garden. anything considered. semi-derelict shack half a mile down a track? do nicely. static in the corner of a field? perfect. "

i know the feeling exactly! my landlord is marrying a brazilian millionairess & pissing off to brazil (alright for some!), he wants me out of my lovely little log cabin by 31st may . the cornwall trip is off due to lack of funds, and me, the dog, the cat, 6 ferrets and a snake have less than 3 months to find a new place... not easy, considering it took me 3 YEARS to find this place!!!! being homeless in the summer aint all that bad, but it's a fucksite harder with all these animals...
