i'm not picking a scrap i use mine solo for tracking and ground work but mine will push brambles and thickets for the lurchers. i've seen them used as a pack in france in open forest and they done the job there. You can't expect a shortlegged dog to draw a wood like a hound. Thing is on the continent they have a breed for every situation - they work very well as a solo dog or as part of a mixed team.

sounds like someone was trying to use them to do the job of a pack of foxhounds not their real job.

Hedz - do you own one? What were you working it on? How old is the dog? What's it's breeding? Was it part of a team? Everything you have typed is at odds with my experience - so i am just curious as to what you abasing your opinion on.

Sorry couldn't chat longer earlier as I was about the office and they get the hump! Inka is on her way over to you - let's hope Lenny gets the boat in time & fingers crossed it all works and she comes home with a belly full! back to the topic in hand - can we not phone the police rapid response unit EVERY time we see someone walking a dog in Lincolnshire. Obviously I don't want to waste the police's time and resources but you can never be too careful. I should imagine that they will realise what a farce this is pretty quickly.

Really? Around Dorchester and Puddletown?? Are you sure? Because I have Never seen a red deer in DT2 but i see large herds of sika and plenty of roe.

it was a sika. Dorset is an epic county. There is plenty of game but I would get permission as the keepers I know in that neck of the woods are red hot.

Its called dope because it makes you dopey. You should take drugs if the benefits outweigh the side-effects. Unfortunately this doesn't apply to any recreational drugs. Then again you only live once so you takes your choices!

Well you could take the risk and buy a dog that is going to be unproven bloodlines - cost half the amount and then be useless or do it properly and buy imported working bloodlines that will do what you want. You get what you pay for - why do you think these others are half the price? i have a pure Teckel. Do not underestimate them. they have prey drive by the bucketload, will work to ground, track scent and take on ANYTHIING. They are like having a miniature foxhound crossed with a patterdale. Epic dogs but need to work and you will spend a lot of your time looking for them - once the switch has flipped its impossible to gt them out of hunt mode. I adore mine - she is great around the house, works to everything I try her and is a great personality. Lsat weekend I gut shot a rabbit with a .22 at about 100 yards.
