  1. Hi lads not posted for a while, managed to get out yesturday first proper session of the season took my jill and one of this years kits, come to the first warren 2 holes and a pal spotted a rabbit dip in as we approached so we knew there was one in there, i put my kit down and after a couple minutes she returned so i put her down again she disapeared into the dark only to immediatly reappear so put her away and sent her mum down, dead silence for about 5 min,she was working! Sure enough the rabbit came up and hit the net, 1 in the bag took her to a few empty ones when we reached a good 7 holer
  2. what are you on about so what more can i learn from reading the same thing over and over. I am saying it is not as hard as you make out to be the only head thing is to get the weight right. So i should just keep reading the same thing over and over. If you pick up a book they dont go in to the weight of the birds if you dont wont to help just fcuk off and stop reading. I've read a couple of books both go into weight managment if you give it a try you might learn summet better than naggin everyone on here about pointless shit for the last few week clogging up posts the complete rabbit and h
  3. just bought rabbit and hare hawking by martin hollinshead pretty good so far very detailed!
  4. theres alot of varied opinions on EU polecats, people have spent thousnads of years to make the best (not counting the recent pet trade) but if a ferret gives birth to 8 kits chances are they will all survive due to our hand, where as the wild alternative only the strongest, fittest the best will survive maybe 1 or 2 of them kits so i think if theres someone who as trapped a wild polcat/ferret and bred it for a generation or two would it not be natures way of striving to do what we are trying to do make the best! and as for money id happily pay £20 for a wild ferret/polecat and give the kits aw

  21. Jan 11th. . . . . LAST YEAR! Kay - aye for some reason folk think a 6 month diploma in animal fiddling makes you the next James Heriot. Well i had a quick shufty online about polecats & trapping & according to the shooting times , a trapped polecat can be either shot of kept I thought they were still protected, so had to be let go if trapped. I exspect most found in traps are shot, why would anyone want to keep a wild animal for work. This was the question asked & answered I read that it is unlawful to deliberately catch, kill or take w
  22. that discription of body and attitude seem right for ratting mate just assumed it was someones money making scam in the pet trade, i use a small lean jill at the min best ive ever seen but some of her kits (hobs) might not be as long but i swear they would weigh more than her at severn week old deffinetly got bigger heads but one of the jills is small(poley) like her and an albino jill that is clearly going to be bigger than the mother. Thanks pal
