They are both lurchers. The older dog is spot on, he lets the pup crawl all over him i have never seen him be aggresive toward another dog. I watched them carefully for a couple of days then put them in together. The pup has quietend down a fair bit. My original post was'nt really about wether i could trust the older dog i was thinking more about training. I have taken on board whats been said. the answer seems obvious now, kenneled together but trained along. Cheers Gents.

well said iceman i believe they are of dutch show breeding that have done no more than lure coursing over 400 meters. which is the only coursing done in holland i recently spent 5 years in holland and trust me you dont do no hunting over there. they are very nice dogs admittedly but if they are dutch they are not of working stock. What makes you say they are Dutch? Im looking at the pics but i see no schpliff or edam? Nice looking either way

What do you guys think? Should a pup be kennelled with an older dog or kept in solitary? I know pups settle down quicker with another dog. I heard a pup kept with another dog would be less responsive to training being more interested in the older dog than the trainer. But on the other hand a pup following and learning from an experianced working dog also sounds like a benefit Thoughts and experiances please.

Thanks for the support lads, This site is bonkers at times. I would have got less shit if id advertised her as a 3 out of 3 dog who lamps, retrieves, guards, leads the blind and finds people buried in rock falls. For £1500 i'm Glad shes gone to a good home for nowt. Cheers Dave.

You know nothing about me or my dogs, yet you are only prepared to see the worst in people. in the time iv had the bitch she has been walked everyday, fed good quality feed NEVER miss-treated She is in good condition apart from an injury she sustained whilst racing. So please stop posting your narrow minded thoughts on my thread. This is the real world.

Free to good home, I got this bitch to breed but i have found a pup and have scrapped the breeding idea! Silent in kennels, Excellent with kids and dogs of a similar size! (she did retrieve a caviler king charles spaniel once) Caught plenty of daytime rabbits but She is not for working due to an old injury. She is a belting bitch and im sure she will make nice pups. Iv got a brindle bitch, She did well on daytime rabbits but gets knocked up really easily. Little knocks that my lurcher would'nt notice will lay her up. And she is shocking with ferrets. I have to admit i have had to look away sometimes when she runs a rabbit full speed towards a wall/fence. I get the feeling its stupidity not bravery. Nice bitch though

Iv seen a pic of this dog in Darcy's book Running Dog Addiction, Says hes a straight wheaton/greyhound I just wondered if anyone knew this dog or saw it work? Id like to see more pictures That looks like my sort of dog. Cheers Dave.

Iv always found if you leave them open they dry out nicly with out doing anything to them. I leave mine in the shed and thy are dry within a couple of days

Does anyone actually make a 10 bore press? I was talking to a bloke today who loads his own, he loads by hand and has a hand roller for closing the hulls. Let me know if you find a supplier, i could do with making my own. Have you tried clay and game shotshell reloaders? they seem to have a lot of stuff.

What is the biggest shot size a load all can manage? I was loading 32grams of number 6 and have nearly run out of shot, but i have half a tub of AAA will the machine be able to handle this size of shot? Has anyone tried?
