  3. no im not a juvenile. Are you serious 30 minutes?
  4. Right as above, I have been trying to learn how to make purse nets using a samll blue book made by arthur carter (useless as its photo copied to death) and watching vids on t'net. After 7 false starts I.E buggering up on the first line and not understanding how or why, Im now up and running. Iv done 15 across and im on row number 15 down but its taken about 4 hrs!! How long does it take a seasoned net maker to do one from start to finish? To be honest in thinking id rather just buy them in....
  5. Daveo mate. if i had your number would you appreciate me giving it out to a complete stranger. Or just turning up at your place with total strangers. I think not. The bullx lurcher world is a small one ..... surely you know somebody who knows somebody else who can get you what you want to know. atb stabba. I'm not really bothered what his dogs do or look like, If they work for him good luck to the man. I thought it was fairly obvious i was being abit silly. Anyway it was you that suggested people bob round to see him Ill tell you whats nailed on all his dogs will be sireing litters

  8. Cheers Fazza and the others with something useful to say..... I am gutted, iv put alot of time and effort into this dog but the kids come first.
  9. The dog is a second cross wheaton greyhound about 24". 2yrs old Lives in or out and is stock broken but not to be trusted with hens! Iv had him lamping and ferreting and would have been a good fox dog preban. He never makes a noise in the kennel and he can be kenneled with others or alone. He retreives, walks to heel and is generaly very obedient. I will be sorry to see him go. Now for the bad news, he has snapped at my 4 yr old today, she got between him and his food. I am fully aware she should not have been anywhere near him whilst food was involved but it happened, Thats the reason
  10. What do them things weigh? How do you mean better than a fox? they do more damage or less? I think we need to import some to bulk out our quarry list

    muck boots

Just bought another pair, went for Avon this time £55.
  12. Its strange how all those rats look the same size, Its almost as if someone bought them from a pet shop then killed them, then tied them together. Its lucky we know the truth, thet they did it to themselves otherwise we all feel like right plonkers. It like when rats steal eggs, one holds the egg and the other drags him back to the burrow., where they share the egg out amonst friends. Amazing creatures.
  13. Iv shot rabbits a plenty with a .410 and i found them effective out to 25 yrds, its the pattern that lets you down not the power, I killed a woodpigeon at about 40 yrds with a single no. 6 pellet through the head from a .410.

    muck boots

I found the soles poor on some surfaces, but other than that spot on. Just watch the neophene on barbed wire!! its the quickest way to ruin them.
  15. What a shame, I hope your mate finds a decent dog.

    New Knife

Alright lads, I don't know about you but a knife is very important to me. I have one with me most of the time when im out and about, I bought a knife in France about 7 years ago and its been the best knife iv ever had, its a Laguiole made by G.David the blade is 12C27 stainless. Iv skinned more rabbits and hares than i can remember with it. The trouble is it's big, and with the state of the law id like something smaller. I want a knife A folder with a fine blade thats easy to sharpen and holds its edge,Im not after felling oaks Id like another knife with a 12c27 blade. Iv got a drawer ful
  18. It should say what it is in top of the cylinder, in big letters.
  19. Pups gone to a good working home.
  20. I had a synthetic one with a 9" mod on i swapped if for a fully modded wooden one I prefer the wood, I doubt you could break either through normal use or even normal abuse. I know a bloke who loaded some cartridges for goose and got quite wrong somewhere along the line. He fired one through his Baikal o/u and it split the forend in half! He took it to york guns who said it was undamaged and ordered another forend for it. You got to love those Russian Purdeys
  21. Sounds like you have worn the barrels away with your intense cleaning method I favour the brush in a drill method if the bores are bad. I used it on an old folding .410 where the bore looked well buggered and it brought it up a treat. I would'nt risk the boiling water myself unless shooting B/P and you really need to.
  22. You've done too much, much too young. Seriously mate, You will do more harm than good, Your dog will come good next season concentrate on the important things like recall and possibly retrieving. Try it again at the end of sept on some nice easy green rabbits.
  23. bit much that int it?? He's a mate of mine and hes just sold his lamping dog aswell THE TIT!! Im not giving up hunting, im just employing different, fair more cunning methods other than lamping. All the best and thanks for the support.
