  1. We've had some rain earlier in the week so grounds good and the winds howling just now and it's only to get worse so good conditions, I'll get pics up later tonight or tomorrow, just good to get him back to be honest his litter bro stays local and is doing all round for fun saw him a few times
  2. Bred a litter of saluki greyhound x 3/4 greyhound 1/4 pups 2 years ago kept 1 back for myself but sadly had to give the game a by due to working away for months at a time but gave the pup to a local boy and he's done really well with it but he foned today asking if I wanted it back because he's moving abroad so jumped at the chance his names "Domino" but few of the local boys call him "phenomenal" so getting out tonight with him to see just how good he really is, conditions are looking good here so I can't wait for the darkness to fall and get out, here's to a good night!! Cheers Darren
  3. Went out tonight for a quick shine with the pup to start bringing her on with the lamp and hopefully get a nice squatter, headed to a local golf course where's there's usually crawling with rabbits so u thought that'd be a good chance for the pup, upon arrival I noticed a large dog fox in the car park which quickly took cover, so anyhow away we set up the fairways in search of a squatter but not a thing in sight, then I noticed 2 pairs of Charlie's red eyes so gave them a squeek but they were for none of it and disappeared, I lamped another few bits but all I kept seeing were foxes I must of a
  4. Just getting myself back into the lurcher game got myself a 5month old pup there and lining up something already running to bring her on with so if anyone fancys a day/night out in the Ayrshire area give me a PM based in the Ayr area cheers
  5. Spot on mate been out the game to long, itching for back end of the season till a can start bringing her on
  6. Aye she's a braw pup she not had anything done with her so she's abit wild, needs lots of work so here's to a long few months ahead
  7. A think she's abit to racy/leggy to have husky the types I've saw are usually a lot thicker set, hopefully she comes good with time
  8. Couple of pics of the new pup, as I said in an earlier post i reckon she's saluki x greyhound x whip x collie shes around 4-5 month and 18", what you's reckon on breeding code code code
  9. Been out the hunting game for a while now but back into it missed it far to much so Just got a pup off a boy who wanted rid because of family problems, she's around 4-5month Im not sure of her breeding think maybe saluki x collie x greyhound x whip, how'd do I post pics and I'll stick a few up see what breeding you's think
  10. If it's that good I'd race for decent money aswell you'd make alot more I know boys who have made a small fortune over the years running for the bigger money
  11. Greenkeeper at Old Prestwick Golf Course
  12. 7months plus mate but work on basic obedience training and stock breaking straight away
  13. Best cross I've had for bigger bunnies up here! Her agility was excellent and her off the mark speed was 2nd to none she was always right her quarrys arse from the off! I'd definety take this cross again, the pup I've booked is a mixture of saluki greyhound whippet so hopefully it turns out as good!
  14. All snaring a think mate but they were just using fox snaring as an example
  15. Just saw on the STV news that their calling for fox snaring to be banned in Scotland saying it causes cruelty to them, after banning huntings with hounds how else to they propose we control the numbers effectively
  16. Excellent choice of cross mate best rabbiting lurcher in my opinion, the trick with training is little and often mate pups of that age get bored easy so just keep it short and simple then as it gets older slowly increase the length of training! Hope all goes well
  17. Superb mate! What breedings the dog 5/8 collie greyhound?
  18. Aknow we all love a good wind when we'r out lamping but earlier 1 of the boys foned asked if I fancied a shine tonight but it's proper blowing of gale here just know really stormy winds so I decided for the safety of myself and the dogs to give it a pass tonight but made me wonder if any of yous would venture out in they conditions for a nights lamping?
  19. Same as 3turns mate a 3/4 greyhound 1/4 collie especially as it'll be your 1st lurcher there easy to train and in the right hands can make really handy allrounders,
  20. We are we are we are the mods!
  21. Just far far to wet up here now to go out up here
  22. Good advice already been given mate as the lads said steady dose it remember it's still a pup so give it a chance don't over run it, get yourself a rabbit skin and keep playing tug of war with it and keep at the retrieving work and plenty of praise when he lift the skin/dummy and eventually the penny will drop as they say, just keep at it mate! All the best!
