Was out with my big dog yesterday for a few retrieves, done 2/2 cracking retrieves he's really starting to prove his worth but on the 2nd retrieve the "big rabbit" decided it fancied a run up the farm road so big dog returned stoppers burst to fek and another stubbed toe so looks like that'll be him off again for another few weeks, frustrating as f**k

It's no a case of not being willing to travel mate, he's willing to travel within reasonable distance, maybe 100mile say!!

No 8 month old pup should be "fit" it should only be healthy and well looked after, 8month is to early in my option to be getting a dog match fit

All lamps can be un realible mate, I've seen and used most set ups, from the old school rover spotlight and car battery to the modern lamps with lithium battery's, personally ive found a lightforce 170 and a 10ah lithium battery, the lithium battery's are a touch more expensive but they really are a god send.

I'd go 3/4 bred mate especially if your after some height, most will average around that, checking the height of parents if a good guesstimate of what height pups will make

Great choice for your 1st lurcher mate, easy to train, very biddable and very intelligent cross!! If your swinging towards the more racier types then a 3/4 grey 1/4 collie would do the trick very good all rounder and will do all legal and pre ban quarry, look for a pup off good stock and your half way there mate, then it's down to you with right feeding,exersize,training and all will come together in the end.
