  2. Cheapest i can find is Ian Hodge Field Sports. £56
  3. The collars from where i get mine from come with a keyring that has a magnet inside for the collar, you just slide it across the the collar (locator piece) and test its on.... i would imagine all new mk3 collars come with them tbh..its a tiny thing but i would guess any magnet would work
  4. Didnt check the deben site itself for some reason.. cheers mates
  5. Certainly looks that way now that all 5 are asleep in a tube together cheers bud
  6. anyone know where i can get JUST the strap for the mk3 collars.. one of mines got rigid and really hard to put on and off (to be fair im crap at putting on the collars.. wish there was an easier way) searched around on google but only seem to find the full thing. to clarify, just the leather strap.. UNLESS theres an easier collar that fits the locators then that will do too
  7. hmmm well theyve all calmed down now got all 5 together in the run they just tucked into a pigeon.though its less happy about sharing food than my other 4..whilest i was cleaning out the hutches...so.. HOPEFULLY they were just sortin out the peckin order with the new ferret.... the furs growing back on the neck and its fattening up now.. slowly.. looking alot healthier than when i got it handed to me 4 days ago... guess ill see how it goes rest of the week before i give the ferret place a ring
  8. put her with my hobs today and within 5 mins they were fighting ... my hob wouldnt let go of her neck so i stuck my finger in his mouth.. shes in the run on her own again raggin on a ball so shes not unhappy .. .seems more stresed when theres other ferrets around than when shes on her own... rekon ill be phoning NE ferret rescue as shes no good to me if she fights.. i just dont have the space for another hutch and like i say, cant keep the kits's hutched halfed as there getting bigger now. shame
  9. Some of you may of seen i had a ferret handed into me the other day.. well noone has claimed her and ive still got the kits hutch halfed so she has somewhere to sleep.... i put her in the run today and put the kits in too as theyve not been out.. and she seemed to get really sick of them very quick.. she seems pretty happy in the run on her own.. after maybe 5-10 mins of the kits running around she seemed to be pretty rough with them and they were making almost like wheezing noises while she was being rough... I know ferrets play very rough but even the hobs dont rag the kits round like th
  10. Farmer mate. As above, be polite, dress smart, be respective of the land (shut gates, mention broken fences etc.) good luck

  14. Ive already put a post on there facebook.... I've gave it some pigeon and put it in a hutch (had to seperate the kits's hutch for now) so at least it will have a warm night tonight

  16. Just had a Ferret dropped off from next door, she found it curled up in the garden, it seems happy enough playing in the run but seemed a bit skinny and wolfed down the mince i gave it, scruff of its neck is a bit thin on fur...Its friendly enough just seemed a bit scared when i picked it up.. stinks tho anyone around wingate area lost it?
  17. ok cheers mate .. not taking them out tomorrow will just take the hobs thanks
  18. I know this, these arnt my first ferrets(not havin a go if it comes across that way), though i am still learning as ive had ferrets for only just over a year.. just confused why i did everything right to the point they wernt biting any more.. seemed ready and as soon as shes out she snaps.... might just be nerves or whatever... i feed them a good meal the night before and in a little in the morning before i take them out and have done this way since getting my 2 hobs. anyways im off shopping, got a pigeon defrosting will put that in when im home and give her a bit to munch on that then go
  19. Hi guys, as some of you may of read, I had the kits out for the first time yesterday. The kits stopped biting and the only problem i had with them was all the wriggling they do .. like there over excited... so after asking about wriggeling and getting the answer i expected i thought id test them out....Well if you read that post you would of known that one of them just seemed to forget everything and seemed to go back to being scared of my hand and she latched onto me. I've been out all day and when I went into the shed tonight,, open the hutch to do my usual handeling and both kits come
  20. would be best way ... £4.99 for 2 (or is it 3?) of the tick removers cant go wrong mate.
  21. My patterdale is 2.5-3yr old and had no problem breaking him to the ferrets. I suggest doing it in the garden or somewhere known to him as theres less distractions and things to get him excited. Let him see the ferrets, sniff at them etc through a cage or whatever youve got first, I had my ferrets in the run and once my dog started to just lay down and look calm often I got them out for him to have a look at, made sure he stayed sitting and calm, if I even saw a hint of excitment I nudged him away until he calmed down..Didnt take long at all and he now treats the ferrets like he treat the pupp
  22. cheers mate, going out monday afternoon depending on the weather .. not sure to take the kits or not though
  23. Well, was a little dissapointing,, 1 rabbit escaped but thats cos I couldnt move fast enough due to me foot and me dad and dog was over the other side of the field so had no chance... one killed underground that we just couldnt find after digging 3 times, and a rat down a rabbit hole .... One of the hobs were to busy pissin about which is unusual because there bloody good workers.. the kits .. well.. one of them was no bother, followed the hobs down the holes.. pretty sure she was with one of the hobs that chased the first rabbit so she defintly saw some action, the other decided to undo ever
