  2. Hi Got a really cheap hw77-k (1987/8) which needed a good sorting out it was a rough as a bears backside pitting metalwork and run down stock.it shot but poorly.anyway I set about stripping it to find out a bit more. There was more grease and gunk embedded all over it inside and out then an engine bay I set about degreasing and polishing it back to bare metal removing the pitting and rust.after several hours it came up as I wanted it to I stripped the stock and had it back to a smooth finish then gave it 3 coats of Jacobean dark oak stain, Final coat I then re blued it usin

  6. Lol, Not kidding its always ends in cock measuring ,with a bit good advise the lad can deal with the rat problem without extensive costs or putting his family at risk.its clear we could all get a nasty rat disease from fishing, shooting or taking the kids to the park.im no pest controller by trade or trained ,but i have managed to use a bit of the grey stuff and set safe poison tubes, traps and with a bit of shooting and cleared some fairly big rat problems in poultry environments and horses.and managed to keep on top of it.hope the op gets sorted and not fed up or listening to drivel,Atb

  10. Its not the size that matters its how you use it(So she says) lol!! I know from my land checks ive had done years ago.that it all comes down to the lay of the land and safety aspects.i had a 26 acre bit if land cleared for22,17 and 233.with a condition of no prone shooting only from up in truck or higher.u could say your erecting high seats in various safe shooting positions.this was years ago like.but it was cleared on this 26 acre plus a 40,60 acre and others some being very flat with footpaths too.show safety and ive never had a prob.my ticket was opened after 6 months so none of it matte

  12. Hi Just be honest,I forgot to list my motoring conviction on a past renewal for both sgc and fac. I remembered after I had sent it off.i rang to say I had forgot to list it as it was 2 years previously and it just slipped my mind.so not to look like I was being deceitful. They were more than grateful to be fair and it never got mentioned at the review on renewal.its no drama just be true.they no more about you than you know about yourself anyway lol Hope it goes ok Atb 223

  14. As a kid We had an old clapped out air gun we found in a dustbin, after getting some pellets from the fishing tackle shop ( bull dog) bet u remember them lol. we took it down the garden.it had no sights exept a fishing shot i stuck on the end with puncture repair glue (all we had) anyway I randomly aimed at a the pot on top of pylon from about 70 yds, twang went the old springer.the second the pellet went towards the pole a starling touched down, thwack killed it stone dead not even a flap.couldnt do it again Atb
  15. A permission slip will be enough ,just for piece of mind really in case of a nosey plod, but still not a must, if u have the open cert, assuming you have? ,I wouldn't go to all the trouble of getting the land inspected I'm sure you are more than capable of risk assessing it yourself Atb

  19. 1kg damsons , 1.3kg sugar,300ml water, simmer the damsons in the water for about 20 mins and reduce the pulp to about half.screen the pips out and skins, I use a slotted spoon. Add the sugar steadily till it dissolves. Boil rapidly for about 8/10 mins and test for setting by using either a sugar thermometer which I find at 105c is ok. But I like the cold plate method.done lots this year.if you find it's a little sweet just reduce the sugar buy a ounce. Atb
