We are all grown up men and women that will use common sense none of us wants to get hurt or hurt anyone else and surely pruning branches and picking up litter doesnt require a lot of brain power (semi retired gardener)
-
saying i /we haven't went about it in the correct way? we have approached the council and met them on site and showed them our vision /proposal and there lack of enthusiasm was shocking -money is the big issue but surely a few skips isn't a lot to ask for [they waste a hell of a lot more on other things] but putting a screw in a tree isn't going to kill it there are 6 inch nails in some of the trees from 30yrs back where lads used them to climb up trees for eggs and the trees are absolutely fine [beech sycamore oak ] most of the dene is hawthorns and elders that have seen better days with l

Will keep you lads updated with progress and any issues that arise

The wild life officer said im hurting the trees when screwing bird boxes and feeders to the trees lol

Ok lads i was brought up in this built up area with a dene and burn running between 2 estates .it was my play ground where i spent every spare minute nesting and being a typical lad making dams etc at the moment its fell into disrepair with plastic bottles (bongs) fridges bags of clothing etc dumped on a regular basis .me and a couple of lads have offered to tidy the place up free of charge in our own time but have been told any rubbish we accumalate will be classed as fly tipping! We are going to go ahead regardless and hopefully they see common sense .if they dont then local papers

That decoy is a real bonus rez they seem to come back to the roost much quicker with it calling

jocks had more passion & deserved it but how many stupid penalties did we give away man?
-
Me and ian drove up to keepers place yesterday just this side of borders and although a fresh cold day it was sunny so thats a bonus plenty of jackdaws around lambing pens but one shot and all gone i went for a mooch on my own and 2 squirrels in quick succession in the bag and back to motor for a cuppa ian has hid himself in hope of a feral or two and ten mins pass and he emerges with a brace of ferals .a bit crack with both keeper and landowner and they send us to another farm 5 mins away where we managed a rook and another feral.we called it a day about 4.oclock

whole countries f****d lads -anyone found flying a kite [yes a kite] in a public park is liable to a £600 fine ? wtf -deemed dangerous lol

Went back up to same farm today to put owl box up for farmer with help from craig and after a big thankyou from farmer we were off on a mission to ambush some corvies and using empty cattle shed as cover we picked a few off the muckheap then a bite to eat and off for squirrels 1st one was mine as i watched it building a drey and i placed a nice shot into neck area sending it bouncing off branches to ground we met up with keeper who was out pushing a large copse out in search of fox and we heard a shot so hopefully he got it last shot of the day belonged to craig and another squirrel

snowflakes will make sure death penalty never comes into force

2- 6 yr old boys killed a 5&half yr old girl on Norway [similar case] and nothing -yes nothing happened to them they were named and still lived in the community ? think it might have been mentioned in this programme [i cant watch owt like that as to distressing/annoying] but wife did and mentioned it to me surely the girls parents would have done ANYTHING to kill the little twats and fxck the jail time as realistically their lives were over anyway [mine would be]
-
going back up on Saturday lads hopefully sort some crows out and a few more squirrels craig is a good climber so ive volunteered him to stick a barn owl box up for farmer lol
-
Craig changed cal from 1.77 to .22 (thanks to pav) and i had some bird boxes to drop off at a farm so took craigs gun along to zero in for him and after a few shots at 30yds i was happy enough with it so i thought i might as well see whats about and i think craig is going to like this gun even more in this cal
-
cant see how there classed as "ugly"? ive got two here that look like porn [in my eyes ] lol -but Rez & Pav hit the nail on the head they are proven hunting tools that have /will out last the rest

Cant knock a rapid lads
-
aye it was villa we even managed to get bogged down in a field and had to be dragged out [good motors them hilux] made it look easy
-
Out again today lads and not much about but some good banter and craig showed his true committment as i heard him cursing at a shot squirrel that had managed to get into a drey _ coat off and up he went i was creased as i pictured the squirrel chewimg onto his hand lol but it was stone dead as he sent the drey down to earth i managed a feral and ian blanked
-
well done mate engine room is best place to hit them imho & i have found the same with squirrels as i was hitting a few in head and them being "little Arnold schwartniger" I'm sure they just "headed" the pellet back at me! lol both rats and squirrels are tough little buggers
