  2. An hour local Friday night with craig thermal doing the job and koda retrieving for us
  3. the shoulder behind the gun is more important than calibre choice . Hit your quarry in the right spot and .20 1.77 .22 .25 will do same job ..25 might leave a bit more mess though lol .Pav has a .20 cal rapid and it does the job
  4. Decided on an early start so arrived at mates as 1st light emerged and spotted a pair of squirrels feeding amongst the pheasants at a feeder on the edge of a wood.i crept up to about 35 yrs and picked one out just as it settled on a tree root crosshairs in place and gentle squeeze on trigger and it just curled up with tail spinning like a helicopter and on closer inspection pellet through head. Happy with that me thinks so off for a mooch and missed an easy woody.Top of this wood is another feeder and squirrel underneath so another slow manouver and resting on side of tree and another
  5. Out last with craig as cloud cover was perfect for roost shooting even though the trees are holding onto there leaves a bit longer than usual. Two copses to go at as they always hold bandits. And as we approached it was obvious bandits were at home so stealth mode in order .Craig took 1st one only 25yds sending others to take off I spotted one trying to look invisible and it paid the price. Nothing left to shoot at as they had done a bunk so we walked 2 fields to some bigger trees and I could see a few crows on over hanging branches we picked one each and after the count of 3 we both fire
  6. I'm not a lover of any bullpup but I've been out with Alan and his fx and it does the job with ease .he also owns a Vulcan "thingy".and it drops them bunnies as good as any thing I own lol .he also owns a p50? .and he says it's even more accurate than other two! . Each to their own I say but I'm too stuck in my ways for change and will carry on with my rapid .ps Alan still owns a rapid that one day will rise like the Phoenix from the fire and once again will be his choice of weapon

Far to windy for my liking Jimmy then when cloud disappeared it was broad day light and bunnies were off! Plenty about for another few sessions though

  12. I will stick with the trusty rapid mate
  13. Me and Ian went out local again today and rather than stick with the rapids for the day Ian brought a couple of shotguns with him I shot 2 bandits and a rat with the rapid with Ian dropping a wòody from 3/4way up a pylon with his rapid .we left 1st farm and ten min drive to another and we noticed a lot of crows on a newly drilled field so we set a hide up between 2 large trailers and stuck a few crow decoys out and the fun began with the shotguns a few ferals showed up and we stuck one on a flapper and it worked a treat . Our rule of thumb is to use the rapids if anything lands among the dec
  14. Ive been informed by alan that he has sorted the gun out lads .he wouldnt have went to bed without getting hands on with it lol
  15. A mate rang askin for as many bunnies as possible so gave alan a shout and he was ok to go out .an hour n half trip in motor and we set off and we thought the wind was going to hamper us but it didnt alan was using impact i stuck with my mk2 rapid and it was becomming obvious that a good bag would be achieved tonight . Good numbers about and as we had to do a bit walking (alans pet hate lol) we used walls to creep up on them and bump them off .after a good few hours we drove to another spot and as i walked along a track i heard a clatter and alan was cursing i shouted back and he said he ha
  16. Canny night alan .got a night for you tomorrow if you fancy it
  17. Woodies are fairly easy compared to any corvid mate .we get a real buzz when a bandit drops
  18. With family commitments later this afternoon i took up the offer of a day shooting local with craig and ian a few woodies from 1st stubble field and then craig dropped 3 crows one after the other from vehicle window .we drove to a farm on the coast and set up in a hide next to a large muck pile and after 30 mins the jackies and crows turned up and a bit of frantic shooting saw half a dozen laying dead on muck pile it went quiet so we left and tried another farm where we got 3 bandits and a few more woodies. A cuppa and a drive back to the previous farm saw another batch of corvids fall on
