  1. Why not just get a pup from proven irish coursing bloodines?
  2. Had a 62lb ex-track bitch myself a few years ago... I was probably extremely lucky more than anything but that bitch did everything..no problem with livestock or getting knocks/ electric wire.. did r,h,f,d.. and did them all first time she ever saw them... a greyhound with a brain was the only way to describe her
  3. I do but having difficulties loading them up on here
  4. Very good..should be nice birds when bred nack 3/4 hatch...I keep mianwali/pakistani aseel myself hence question
  5. A young trio of Hint x Brazilian I bred this year fed that mix i talk of
  6. I try to get a balance of about 16% protein.. Pigeon conditioner and alround mix are two different things neil...conditioner is small oily seeds..very rich and alround mix is a mixture of grains and beans... I totally agree with you on free ranged birds picking all sorts..its the best way to rear birds imo but not the easist.. I know a few lads feeding rabbit feed in a mix aswell for the alfalfa..
  7. They would survive perfectly well in the Irish countryside as there's a small population of Brown Hares in the North but for a club affiliated to the ICC to do it they would probably be breaking the law and it would also give ammunition to the antis. Also seeing as the Irish Hare is a protected Animal..I believe introducing the Brown hare could dwindle the numbers of pure irish hares as well making hybrid crosses
  8. I wouldnt feed soaked dog food all year round..protein is too high..only feed a bit of it in molt.. I feed whole wheat, small bit of layers pellets, whole barley and pigeon all around mix... soaked oats once or twice a week
  9. Very nice birds stonewall..what type of asil did you use for your grade crosses?

  19. Was just wondering what are the advantages of droppers over pure breds? i,ve seen some pups avertised like labrador X esp I don't know much about gundogs but what are the advantages of this cross? Don't they both do completley different jobs?
  20. Alrite lads i,ve been looking at hide nets and not quite sure what one to buy..what do ye find the best and also what size? there'll just be 2 of us shooting in the hide..
  21. Generally fewer coursing pups bred so more expensive, they are normally bred from top end bitches and the few top sires are expensive , there is a large amount of trackers bred from lesser quality bitches and a lot of track studs are available free or very cheap until they are proven, the price of coursers normally comes down as soon as the season finishes and you can then pick them up for a few hundred euro thanks for that fella..
  22. Alrite lads was looking at greyhound data and i can't get over the price of coursing greyhounds compared to track greyhounds..for pups, sablings or adult..i would of thought that it would have been the other way around due to there being more tracks in uk and ireland compared to coursing meets..can anyone shed some light on this...
  23. yes i think he needs to go out with his local pack and learn the crack..he'll soon see the knacks and faults hounds do (babbling, cutting hunts, flinging etc.) to get a good pack together takes alot of time and effort and hard culling..best of luck
