  1. Not much you can do with clays. You could try cooking them in a slow cooker, but i think they might still be a bit tough Nick
  2. To protect rare breeding birds, the law prohibits intentional disturbance of any species included in Schedule 1 of the Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981. This applies while such a bird is building a nest, or is in, on or near a nest containing eggs or young. It is also illegal to intentionally disturb dependent young of Schedule 1 birds. Photographers cannot visit such nests unless they obtain the appropriate licence from the relevant authority. These are as follows: English Nature Northminster House, Peterborough PE1 1UA. 4. That is the type of dog i want for a future worker CG. Someone with a collie x whippet wanted to use my whippet over her. Did not need another dog at the time so said no. Wish i had now, seem rarer than hens teeth

  7. Accidents will happen, as long as you take all precautions possible, nowt else you can do Paul. Can you not get a treadmill, they are ideal for situations like this, you get them fit without the fear of anything happening before fully fit enough to cope with it.
  8. Or only open them when i'm expecting visitors
  9. I was thinking exactly the same Mine also come straight out when game is lost. Unfortunately here the woods are full so when they lose one they find another and so on. One of my old lurchers chased a hare in a field, good long run and eventually ended up in the woods, 5 mins later he was out and making his way back to me.....another hare lifted, same scenario. Then would you believe it it happened a 3rd time.....massive torn gracillis later and he never worked again!

  13. I do like to watch boxing, but don.t know any of the in's and out's, tend to pick who i want to win by the way they look/act. So my only input will be i hope the mild mannered one wins I once went to a boxing competition when i was staying in North London years ago, a nice young man asked to take me. I thought it was just to a training session for some unknown reason, so went in jeans etc. I was mortified when it was a big dinner do....needless to say i never saw him again Would you like to see some photos of my new curtains
  14. I like someone i can do both with Gnash Extol the virtues of my new curtains, show off my latest 'sale' bargains. And...talk about how well the dog did or did not do out hunting, whats the best knife for the job. But then again I'd walk out the room if a man started wittering on about football
  15. I completely understand and it is hard to decide what is the best to do with them. The positive are...they find game, they learn, they are fulfilled and it is great fun when it all works out right. But i usually find the negative outweigh the positives. Injuries from hurtling through heavy woodland. Game being chased and caught somewhere you really dont want it caught, like past your employers house Rudie went off after game the other evening, took him straight into the woods. Stood for 10 mins calling him, not a sign or noise! Whilst waiting a pick up drove past and away up a dirt track
  16. And the sick feeling gets worse when you realise they could be to ground somewhere deep in the woods....horrible feeling.
  17. I've learned to avoid such places now Occasionally though, game will jump up on our normal walk and take the dogs over the fields into the woods, and believe me its worse when you have terriers mixed in with it screaming their head off in full pursuit, past some farmhouse If they are not back in about 5 mins i get twitchy, have seen them gone for up to 30 mins without any sign before, game running all ways out of the woods Just try to stand at some vantage point near to where i last saw them where i can see in most directions. Scarey here though because firstly it is heavily keepered, and
  18. When i was a child i always thought i would be the little woman in the log cabin (Old American films) with the big pan of food boiling away on the open fire, my husband would be outside in his checkered shirt chopping the logs for the fire
  19. No need to Gnash, i hear what you are saying. I just cannot understand how a woman with a similar activity to you (use the term you as a collective) can be seen as unattractive. If you were an anti and the woman was a hunter i could understand, or it was an activity that would infringe on your life.
  20. I cannot put into words very easily why i hunt. I know why i started...because of the dogs. And that eventually led me into a totally different lifestyle to anything i had ever known prior, and i am the most content and happy i have ever been. I work damn hard at what i do (hunting and trapping) And yes i am thought of as peculiar by some people, the better people think it is brilliant. Never has been anything to do with men, for men or to impress men. Just like you men never started because of women. But because it is a male dominated activity most of my very good friends are now men. My bes
