    No, you don't. You need good base lines, but breeding lurcher to lurcher, however good they work, is a lottery. It always has been and always willbe UNLESS you know the exact lines of each - but that is more selective breeding than just worker to worker. I despair sometimes of the general ignorance that is shown. I have bred my strain true for over 30 years. Not as a mney maker,just to replace my own dog when needed.     It dosen't surprise me, I think that a lot of people just freeze, outright violence is so out of there everyday lives they just don't know what to do or are just plain scared. If I stood by and did nothing whilst someone was raped I couldn't live with myself. Same happens when people are attacked by dogs, people just freeze, its so far removed from modern, everyday life. I agree with that......for some people confrontation is just an absolute no no they will do anything to avoid it even if it means walking past someone in obvious need of help.......i dont think you can blame them not ever

    is Usain bolt any fitter than Mo Farah or indeed are either of them any fitter than any one who runs 10 marathons in 10 days or are they just horses for courses Would imagine they will all be as fit as they possibly can be to compete at the level they compete at.....and yes, they are horses for courses....very fit ones.....if they weren't fit they wouldn't put in the performances they do..... Likewise dogs expected to do a job night after night, day after day need to be fit for purpose...... Tell you what Paul....I think a lot of dogs fall down/jack/are passed on/branded use
