  1. Hello all, Just got a new scope for an air rifle and was calibrating it yesterday. Somebody said, 'You're eyes are different to mine, so the results will be different' or words to that effect. So I was wondering is this true? Could a situation like this occur: I aimed the scope perfectly on the target, fired and the pellet went dead centre, then a different person tried shooting and went outside the target even though they aimed perfectly on the target? Or...is it the case that if the crosshairs are lined up on a target, it doesn't matter what your vision is, that's where the p

Install AdBlock Plus. Blocks all adverts, one of the best addons I have. Using friends'/relatives' computers isn't the same now as they don't have it installed. Get it and be ad free.
  4. I don't care how much of a problem rabbits are, how tasty they are, or even how much I hate them....you would not get me doing this.
  5. Do you watch that Meteor hunter programme mate? I dont have the channel but my cousin is always going on about it. The make a fortune..... I've never heard of it Lab, what channel is it on? I think it used to be on Quest, not sure though. Definitely one of the Freeview channels though as I used to watch it. It was indeed an interesting show. According to wikipedia they made 3 seasons, so perhaps they're available online somewhere...

  7. Which ones do you already listen to? There's a huge number of hunting/fishing podcasts on iTunes.

  9. That's the one. I hoped someone had copied it or put it somewhere else, but apparently not.
  10. Don't think it's that video. It's a video where there were two dogs pussy footing around a boar, then this dog, 'Clive' was released and he goes barrelling straight into it. Yeah on the edge of a stream right? Gotta be the same one Yeah, that's the one. Any chance you have it somewhere? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e7pINAWFQZs&feature=youtube_gdata_player Nice clip but that's not the one.

  13. If the 'big cat' is repeatedly making attacks on the same farm, surely the farmer could sit out at night with a camera. If the big cat did indeed rip through mesh there would probably be fur/scrapings left behind. Or even footprints left behind, if this happened recently they should still be there...if it was a big cat.

  15. Video has been removed. Anyone know where else I could see this?
  16. There's rich and poor in all countries. UEFA issued 1.4m tickets for the matches, presuming (very generously) 300,000 went to Spanish/Greek fans, that's roughly 0.5% of the combined populations. Hardly a representatve figure.
  17. This is what angers me about the press, I'm no wildlife expert but even my first guess was otter. Instead of checking facts/evidence they print a ridiculous story of this being evidence of 'big cat'.
  18. It's not until I moved abroad I fully realised what the UK has to offer. Clean skies and no pollution - even in the big cities High standard of living The NHS Clean, drinkable tap water A good climate - believe it or not it has. That's just off the top of my head, I'm sure I could think of others.

    Quail

I kept them (Italian) when I lived in England. They're easy enough to keep, just make sure any enclosure has head room, they can be quite skittish and fly vertically upwards from time to time. The enclosure I had them in was about 8-10ft tall and they still hit their heads on the top when they were spooked. Males can also be fairly viscious to females, so if you're only after them for the eggs, which are tiny (but they do lay every day usually), consider females only. There's plenty of info online about keeping them.

  22. Earthrise for those wondering: I like pictures that make you realise how small/insignificant you are, but at the same time also how lucky you are. My desktop's always changing, Not sure if this counts, but one of my favourite 'photographs' that makes you think comes from the website Reddit (I'm sure some of you will know of it). Anyway, one man posted a request for the Reddit community to photoshop a photo he had of his young daughter and her friend. Unfortunately she had leukemia. He wondered if anyone could change the background to something interesting/funny so he could show his d
