    What type of lurcher do you favour gilbey? i liked the saluki/lurcher cross collie lurcher for edible game.

I'd say daytime hunting I'd have one.i had a half cross a long time ago took a long time to mature bomb proof temp easy to handle.Hunting up daytime was his strongest point.must be a trait, my old 1/4 bred is/was in his element hunting up even on barren ground. Thats interesting mine is 1/4 beardy and his nose and day time find skills are very good. Often air scents some thing bloody miles away

    Nice pics, really like the bottom one was he any good? Here's the rub Marvel, the top dog thats black and white killed his first fox at 9 months old and I never seen him turn away from one,if he got on terms then it was "curtains",he stood 27"TTS great rabbiting dog but lousy on hares,kept him for 4 yrs then gave him to a lad that just done fox, the bottom bitch was bought in 2004 stood 27"TTS would kill anything but was running sly on fox single handed,she would either back off and let them get into cover or bark,running alongside, doubled up she was brave but liked the arse end too much

    ive owned a half cross and 3/4 cross. Seen more 3/4 crosses work some decent animals i have a soft spot for them.

    This old book MF? had it about 25 years seen them go for up to £150 on ebay. Remember they being a copy of that in Rotherham public library when it first come out carnt remember the chaps name who wrote the chapter on lurchers in the book. John Pattinson
