  1. certainly looks like land where man and dog would need to be fit and certainly get fitter as the season progressed.
  2. nothing wrong with your mates dog if it is a good one. have seen a few good beddie/grey cross collie/grey in my time.

  4. you have done well if he will retrieve a dummy. it is now just a matter of progression.when there are young rabbits about i would shoot one. tease him with it then try retrieves.dont worry if this takes time. some dogs are a bit wary of retrieving dead rabbits for the first few times.just dont overdo it.you can do this through the year.until he is retrieving a full grown dead rabbit.just take your time plenty of praise when he gets it right. when the season starts again try him on the lamp good luck. i always started pups with dummys then moved on to gundog dummies [rabbit skin covered] then m

  7. the best lurcher i have owned nose wise was a 3/4 grey 1/4 border collie. i have seen beddie/grey and beddie /whippets with excellent noses.

  12. yes they are 2 good sizes of land. it was a case of being in the right place at the right time and knowing the right people. but i think the poultry 1 is going to be divided in 2. i have had them for 20 years. i learn a bit more each year but still struggle with summer cauliflowers.
  13. i have 2 30 metres by 10 metres. i for vegetables 1 for poultry. i havent heard the term rods for land size. but i have heard of land measured in poles ie 1 pole =6 metres. so a old chap says on the allotments.

  15. any chance of one for brown trout thanks. mmm yes mate, Ok believe it or not i cook brown trout exactly the same way i do black bream. I think it is great. you may have tried this way yourself? very simple. Ok gutted fish. I slice 4 times little slits down the body, from top to bottom. on one side only. Then simply just fill the slices up with garlic and butter and sometimes parsley or tyme. if you wanna you can beat them all up together and make a nice paste that you can get in the slits perfect with.
