  1. 10 bitches is a fair few. But if he is producing the goods then why not. Like has been said I'd rather use a son of his now rather then him. Not that I'd use the blood personaly.
  2. Thanks for That Kate. We can only go off what we are told by lads we trust when it comes to dogs spread around the country. I'm glad to hear he has been doing the job below ground because he has sired a hell of a lot of pups in recent years. Let's hope his offspring can produce the goods where it matters and not just in the show ring.
  3. Fair enough pal. All the best with your pups.
  4. He has been used a hell of a lot. Because of size and looks. Shame as no one has ever answered the question on his working ability. When iv asked people why they want to use him they always say because he is small. Never once has anyone said because he grafts.
  5. Why is he retired from work? Is he to hard? I didn't think he was dug to.
  6. Mine is about 14, good head and muzzle. A bit to chesty for my liking but it dosnt seem to stop him. I wouldnt want him any smaller though as I like abit of substance in a terrier. The ones iv seen that are smaller are usually big in the chest. And a lot of the bitches about are very small and mousey. Not my cup of tea.
  7. Mine did it a couple of times. Luckily never at a dig but since Iv cut the nobbley bit off the clip its been fine. I'm guessing it's just the brass clips that have the problem but Iv never seen the other ones.
  8. He knows pal I told him. He said cut it off.
  9. Iv got a strong stuff lead and collar set with brass fittings. Really good quality but I had to cut abit of the catch of the brass clip as when my dog was tied up he managed to get loose. It was because the catch on the clip stuck out to far so was catching easily. I have not had a problem since I cut it down. Just something to be aware of of there tied up at a dig.
  10. My Plummer was an awesome little bushing dog untill he decided to go to ground. Now I only use him for earth work. I think with any terrier you always run the risk of it going to ground. That's why if I got a dog for bushing id look at a beagle x or spaniel.
  11. Some Crackers on here. Here's my bitch for next season.
  12. I use 105grn soft point on the Roe. Works out just over £1 a bang.
  13. There's one on eBay at the minute pal. Old style box with 2 old style collars.
  14. There's a site called south west lurcher shows or something like that mate. It's well run and always has all the local shows on. And they add more as the year goes on. Hope that helps mate
  15. Drainage needs to be the first thing on your list pal. Build the kennel around your drainage and you won't go far wrong.
  16. I had the same dilemma. I went for 243 and I love it. 100grn soft point is what I feed it and it does the job!
  17. Iv always been told to put them somewhere rabbity. Would you boys say thats good advice. Never put one in myself.
  18. To be honest mate Plummers seem to be in demand big time at the minute. And people are charging £350 for a pup! Because you don't know anyone in the breed it will probably mean you going on a waiting list for a pup. If your lucky enough to get the choice of pups in a litter you will know what pup you want. Not trying to put you off the breed pal. But several other breeds would suit your needs. And save you £300.
  19. If your only bushing and rabbiting mate I'd say a Plummer from any kennels will suit you. But look for a line with decent size. As you don't want to be digging your dog out of rabbit warrens.
  20. Tell that to my Plummer.
  21. Cheers pal. He is only a pup and on the big side to be honest. But he has started the season well and I'm pleased with him so far.
