  1. That's the mastitis one isn't it. Wasnt sure if you could use that as I was always told to use the stuff to dry cows off.
  2. I know the tubes that are used for cattle are the best thing to put into cuts and punctures but which ones. I can get them from work but will any of them do the job? Like the ones to treat mastitis? Do you know any brand names I can look out for
  3. Looks like a good day out with the North Dytkos.
  4. Feed mine mackerel. Just gutt them and they eat the lot. Love em. I'd feed any other fish but I can catch 5 mackerel on every cast in the summer!
  5. Somebody will probably correct me if I'm wrong but I call it a fell if it has a thick or long coat. Or just a black or red terrier with a good thick coat is probably the best way to describe it. A patt for me is the short haired black and chocolate stuff a lot of lads use. But that's just me. Probably wrong. Iv a black pup with a heavy coat. Father was a red lakie type and mother was a black bitch with a very heavy coat. To me that makes that pup a fell.
  6. Can you enlighten me as to why you think there rubbish mate?
  7. On a different note mate, The dog in your Avatar, That yours?
  8. Thanks for all the replies gents very helpfull. Iv acquired a couple from work but they are the big ones. I'll give them a good wash out and cut a half moon shape in the top to stop them pulling the straw out. Bolt some timber to the sides to stop them rolling. Job done.
  9. Let me know when your getting rid of your dogs that will stay in untill dug to. I'll take them off your hands!
  10. Must admitt I have thought that myself. I recon there is a fair mark up on them. But fair play to them. They filled a hole in the market and don't have any competition to worry about
  11. £400 is a lot of money but there are a cracking bit of kit. Like the fact you can recharge them using the same charger that comes with a collar. I'll be getting one after Christmas. Can't bloody afford it now! Lol. Wife wasn't keen on getting me one for Christmas! Lol
  12. Lol. Iv got some at work I'm going to rob but they are a fair size. I didn't want to have them to big as it won't hold the heat as well.
  13. Im thinking about using the plastic barrels for beds. I was just wondering what you boys think of them. Also what size barrel is best to use? I was just going to put them on there side with a small hole cut out for them to get in and out. Drill some ventelation holes in the roof then maybe put a rubber cow mat in and fill it with straw.
  14. Johnny as you know I love plummers. Otherwise I wouldn't own one. You say you have never owned a patt and your curious about them. I'd say get out with some lads with a decent strain and dig to one. It will open your eyes pal. Like iv said I love my Plummer pup and he has been faultless in anything asked of him. But his biggest test will come at the end of this season. But if wanted a dog in my kennel to dig to. I'd get the black stuff in without hesitation.
  15. Its fairly Simple. If you want a dog to dig to, Get a Black un. If you want to mooch about after Rabbits, Rats, Mink and Foxes on top. Get a Plummer or Russell.
  16. She's very racey Lee, Surprised she is only 13tts, Looks bigger but then you can never tell by pics. dont think iv seen a more Slight built Plummer. ATB with her mate
  17. Alot of people dont like them mate. You only have to do a search on hear and there is a few threads about them. All of which are made up of people slagging them off as the breed in general are not known for there earth work. Iv also noticed that most have the lads that slag them off have never owned one. Each to there own i say. But for what you want it for they are hard to beat IMO
  18. Im in the Plummer camp mate. Mine is 8 months now and very capable working cover. He has a cracking nose on him. Iv just come back in from a mooch with a mate that has 2 russels. They put a fair few rabbits out between them and managed to nail one themselves. Cant beat them for bushing. Im on the look out for another.
  19. Then you may want to remove the "Hares" bit of your original post. That would be a start
