  1. There are many reasons for and against, we're all individuals, our circumstances different. The majority of people here can think for themselves . . . I won't be doing mutch but fishing and corvid bashing during the summer, however the dog will still try and turn every walk into a hunt I will shoot rabbits during the summer if specifically asked or even if i decide i want too, but I would rather ferret or run them during the winter Each to there own.
  2. . . . My two favorate smells for a sunny spring morning, just couple of hours sat in a bush to keep the ferrets in food and a bit of fun too ! ! We did loose a few over the hedge into the rape witch is pretty high and very yellow now. . . Heres a couple of pics . . . .
  3. Nice one mate, just smile and nod, bloody bizzy bods. An next time you can just wave as she drives by
  4. Barns full of ferals are allways good for a game of battleships ! !
  5. the venison freezer or the duck freezer ? , Looking at those prices, my ferts have smashed a tenners worth in 4 days
  6. Check the breakers yards mate,
  7. Nice shot, the woodies are taking a hammering at the min, everyone seems to be on them
  8. If they get to the bait try and nail them before they take the eyes out of it as a bait with eyes appears fresher, you get two goes at this as if your using a rabbit on its side you can flip it over if they take the eye, let us know how you get on, remember the key lies in not being seen
  9. Yea, whatever your using try and have its guts hanging out, if theres a tree or two near then make sure they are in range from your hiding spot as there likely to land in them to survey the area, in my experiance they will probably only come in one or two at a time, until you nail one and its mates start kicking off, then keep your eyes in the trees as they settle down, dont let any see you though, only pick up the downed birds when the coast is clear, you could peg these out aswel, i use a bit of tig wire to keep there heads up, i have only decoyed pigeons with a shottie and they get take
  10. Dead baits for corvids, i took a pair of maggies of the dogs bone the type with marrow inside, eggs work well too, even half a packet of maccy d's chips an a bit of burger
  11. tried the rangemasters, had to feed them into the mag with a pencil (tight around the skirts) and could only get 2p groups at 30yds with the 410, what you shooting them through dar? I will bring them up with me and you can have them :thumbs :
  12. Never had that in .177, im lucky or its just a .22 thing ? ? ?
  13. your'e allways going to get poachers when <1%`of the people own >99% of the land, always have done allways will do, its just one of them things. . . . . . . . . .
  14. Look for obvious pest problems i.e an abundance of rabbits grazing or featherd freinds all around the out buildings ect ect, the if they say no then its a no, but if they say someone else is doing it, offer to help him with the specific problem you have noticed, it will make him or her think having said that, i have no permision but i can talk a good game Remember, if you feel you were treated rudely when you were polite and they told you no and to f**k off, that means YES ! But only between 1 and 5 am (joking)
  15. Its beyond hope mate, i will give you 100 quid for it !
  16. Cracking fish that, theres some in the canal near me, now then , wheres my rod ? just heard they have a cull policy for z on the canal here, why? I dont know ? The only thing i would take from the canal is a picture !! And maybe a daid bait or two .atb. .ste.
  17. Anyway stuff scopes !! Open sights rule !!
  18. Maybe im a sucker for a gimmic Mine has been used to help put quarry in the bag so its done its job as far as im concernd
  19. personal preference i think I have shot by identifying quarry by there shape against the cloud at dusk as i am sure many of us do, the illuminated ret excells itself in this situation for me, where it is to dark to see the ret and lamping pigeon is a bit naughty
  20. Great for roost shooting, dark shiloettes (spelling) you can see the cross hairs on the shadow of a target where a standard ret would dissapear, giving you a more precise shot placement, Crap for everything else, as phantom says they can be overly bright so make sure you get one with a few different brightness settings, so in answer to your question, no there not a gimmic .atb. .ste.
  21. Nice shooting AH, those statistics sound o.k to me
  22. Well done lads, it definatly pays to up hide poles and move if you think you can get on them somwhere else, nice bag ! ! I started saturday with a 0 percent hit ratio after missing an easy-ish one with both barrels "just warming up" i said, an then went on to mutter something about cartridges
  23. Cheers duncan, there was some good shots at distance, i would have rather been half a k away in the thick of it though, it was a [bANNED TEXT] tease watching them swirling round, hundreds and hundreds, the farmer will have a knock this week see if we can get in there
  24. Allways nice to each what you shoot! Had a pigeon breast sarnie yesterday
