  13. Well just had her out on her own and may have made a breakthrough, rabbits arent plentiful on this particular ground but managed to see a few. First one got fairly close and she spotted it as it took up,I slipped her and hissed her on , she trotted a few yards and then watched it disappear into the darkness. Next field spotted another a fair distance from the hedge got as close as I could, it moves slowly and she spots it I slip her again she trots a few yards then stops, the rabbit then gets up properly and makes for the hedge but this time she takes off after it (yippeee!) right at the end
  14. Iam not saying it anit bright. BUT id be thinking lack of prey drive rather than too bright if it was me.... Even if that is the case its prey drive anit very high for a youngester imo Woz.... Too ady id just stick with it fellah till she matures that bit more, Likes been said hopefully the penny will drop and she'll click.... Atb with her lets us know how she gets on either way It seems that everything is be branded as prey drive.defense drive.drive drive drive..it isn't always the case..none of can say without seeing the dog working and at home..the op said the dogs
  15. yeah going to try her later and will post the results later lol

She is very different to the other bitch with her
  17. I see what you mean but when you are having to travel to your permission it becomes a pain in the arse if after travelling and then trapsing the fields the dog doesnt chase, it would be different if you had plenty of rabbits on your doorstep. I guess if all else fails then I will have to but Ill keep plodding on getting her out as much as possible. I'll keep everyone posted on her progress
  18. thanks for all the positive comments guys, its something Ive never had to deal with before normally have to hold em back lol. Im determined to give her a fair crack and Ill get her going if it kills me. She is still very playful and the times when she has run up the side of the other bitch all shes trying to do is play. As has been said giving her time will work hopefully. Anyway here is the bitch in question
  19. I'd like to think there would be something. Does she chase anything, ball, rabbit skin, etc? As willow says just need to wait till she matures she will chase a ball , a dummy and will chase her kennel mate and other dogs whilst playing so I suppose theres potential there. Im not into passing dogs around at all so would hate to give up and apart from that she really is a faithful young bitch
  20. I know mate just doesnt show any drive at all, see plenty of rabbits and squirrels during the day too and will just watch them, she is very babyish still but should be showing some sign by now surely!!
  21. So heres my problem, I have a 15 month old saluki cross lurcher bitch who has been coming out lamping with my older bitch regularly since around 12 months old, she has seen many rabbits caught but I just cant get her started, she just will not chase. I have kept running dogs for many years but have never encountered this before. I have walked up to countless squatters and slipped her as the rabbit makes for home and she stands and watches it flee. I have tried running her along side her kennel mate but when slipped she will trot a few yards and stop and watch the other bitch work the rabbit.,
