Havent you been watching the discussion on the future of lurchers for the past week or so, there is a new association in the process of formation A committee is in place contact these for more info or to become part of it the Committee members are, Socks, Skycat, Trenchfoot, Sandymere, Mushroom . pm any one of them they will update you.

It does appear as though this journey is going to be a long and winding road with many a twisting turn (think thats a song ?) if as it appears even the definition of long dog , lurcher and their various connotations cannot be agreed on . Micky B suggested Running dogs, i think its accepted that all dogs run irrespective of breed , status or employment , So rather than get bogged down on this, agree to agree and let those in the seats get on with the belts and braces stuff that is going to drive this forward and enable the whole thing to achieve its objective and ultimate goal.

I speaking as an individual that holds no official position other than in a saluki club, do fully appreciate the Offer that Alan Tyer has put forward and again speaking from an individuals perspective see it as an ideal opportunity to utilise all the benefits that the ALC has accrued over the years from the efforts of Mr Tyer. The name suggested may be the banner needed. The one Banner for all is all that the people have been asking for and openess and transparency. i also am no spring chicken but still take an interest on what happens in the countryside as well as still working my sightdogs

The only reason it was suggested I had a meeting with you is that I apparently live about 4 miles from you and a face to face would ensure we are on the same hymn sheet also it would possibly have led to a bigger meeting being planned for later this month but if it would not serve any purpose then that is your opinion. I also have mine but yes working together usually entails meetings be they solo or in groups or public gatherings. Will you be organising a large public meeting in the near future? Leeview the leaflet is there for all to view it is clear what is printed on it they can draw their own conclusions , if they are of a mind to then read the entire Hunting with Dogs Act that is also their choice now I have more important things to occupy my time than nit pick with you and pontificate ATB

I'd go back and read it properly it clearly states dogs CAN hunt rats and rabbits in the case of retrieving hares they must be shot at the earliest oppertunity Y.I.S Leeview unfortunately that information is 2 links away from that document as you are aware. We are concerned about the document and how it depicts what are legal methods or more specifically how the first document does not include dogs as means of con on there if you read it fully it states you cant hunt deer, foxes or hares with dogs The link is there to read and it say you can hunt rats and rabbits as does the hunting ac

I refer to Courser,s post beginning " I have contacted Leeview and Flynn and sent a round robin e-mail" and its content Rob then sent a pm to Alan Tyer requesting a local meeting on my self to discuss what ALC and Alan Tyer can bring to the table to convince our small group to join the ALC if this would be our best way to proceed for us or are we to follow blindly without consultation or investigation. The committee have commenced the preliminary work on an Agenda, so come on people any issues you want to raise or matters you would like to be discussed or included, then speak up this is a joint exercise for the benefit of lurcher owners workers or not , it is an opportunity to raise issues of concern and importance with various parties to attempt to raise the profile of lurcher work, the dogs and their owners in public perception . We want to sit with Alan Tyer to express the concerns that have been raised to us, Lots have stated that ALC does not appear to put itself out there. A lot of the younger ones dont even know about it, We understand what hes done and the lack of funding, he finances a lot from his own pocket , we are trying to achieve the same things but it all has to be on the same song sheet and for the benefit of all.

Chalky is retired and into fishing now. Alan Tyers already sits in C/A meetings . Skycat is already on the committee,J Darcy knows of this and is more than welcome to sit, In fact any one with a genuine interest or passion has been on a open invite from the beginning to get involved.

You maybe tiring,IF the CA decides they're happy with their set up as it is Where are you going to go to further the cause? Y.I.S Leeview Nothing is ruled in or out at the moment as I understand it. e.g didnt NCC become part of the RHA? and is ALC even functional yes it occupies a seat I believe in the higher archi yet how many are aware of its activities ?.now even its web site is archived , no one rules out amalgamation or integration in to the present set up but people would like action and answers not smoke and mirrors. Strange this concern starting now things are moving forward
