Update On The National Lurcher Club.
desertbred replied to sandymere's topic in Lurchers & Running Dogs
I am a potential member and will when all the facts are presented then make my own decision.IF i want to be a member or stand for the committee that is my choice not yours so as you say tough. Those involved probably would reply to your input but maybe they have no inclination to enter into your little game. As for criticism you first need knowledge do you have any ? -
April next year all dogs will need to be micro chipped to comply with the law. The police will scan your dog if you are stopped and if its not chipped a fixed penalty if you are working it may be another excuse to impound your dog not having the chip.

Update On The National Lurcher Club.
desertbred replied to sandymere's topic in Lurchers & Running Dogs
As a silent spectator and well wisher, it appears had this small group not taken up the challenge and done a considerable amount of leg work nothing would have been done and certainly the meeting with C/A and Tjm Bonner would not yet have been on the Agenda. Once those attending the meeting come back with the results of the meeting then every single one of the interested parties can and should if they feel capable put them selves forward for the Association committee the names of nominees or volunteers should be posted and a voting poll taken to elect the members this should be open for every -

Update On The National Lurcher Club.

Participation appears to be the key to move the proposed group to the next level . In put and discussion will drive it forward so any folk with a genuine intent to get involved and try to improve the present and future for working lurcher owners should get on board. The Hunting Act is still law and the Lacs and antis are still looking to enhance and expand it even further so now is not a time to sit back and await the much trumpeted Amendments that have been postponed to some future date. Those who want to destroy country activities do not rest and continually produce more negative publicatio -

Dont abandon ship just yet mate, hang fire until the proposed meeting takes place then it will be a lot clearer what is on the table and where any working platform can be agreed or not as the case maybe. The money aspect have nt been a part of the work done up to now so a little premature, obviously should the club get of the ground in order to move up the league table funding would need to be looked at. Tentative offers have all ready been offered regarding this or so I am led to believe from those in the loop. -
Paediatric ORS will do the job prepared in home but use within 24 hours cheap enough to throw away if not used.

OK, you know best, you're right and I'm wrong. You have your opinion I have mine the proof will be in the out come of the meeting dont you think?or is that wrong also. Just a final point there are far more hunters, dog men and country sports enthusiasts outside the country alliance than in it doesnt that signify short comings it does to me. -

Wrong where Mr Darcy ?The Countryside Alliance is there for members is it not and potential members? This is where it has lost ground over the years taking things for granted as you appear to be doing now. I said discussion or is it a dictatorship? legitimate points that may be obstacles in debate and progress . A representative body is only as good as those it represents. so the world doesnt revolve around who you say Mr Darcy, are you a obstacle in progress or is some under current preventing your vision? -

Tim Bonner now has an opportunity to do some house cleaning if prejudice is still apparent., Open on the table discussion is the way to move forward, Mr Bonner offered the meeting in London so obviously he knows some matters need to be discussed. It is for the representatives who ever they may be, to put forward the legitimate concerns raised by working lurcher owners and to suggest how any impasse or impediments can be resolved to the satisfaction of those being represented. Many people want to join some club or association as I do myself but something with a voice and a true representativ -

desertbred replied to sandymere's topic in Lurchers & Running Dogs
A lot of my friends run lurchers so why shouldnt I have an affinity to support them in their sport.? I dont have any grievance with any saluki club. Now what has my religion got to do with this Topic? I can and will answeryou at the appropriate time as most with any knowledge would know the answer to the hunting and despatch of game according to Islam apparently you dont but want to comment on something you dont know.anything about. -

I still think C/A Could have, should have and should do a lot more for lurcher lads than is visible dont you ? Well, no. I disagree. And I do not think a 'spokesperson' for this club should be voicing those opinions anyway. Not if you want to be taken seriously by the overall fieldsports body. But thats my opinion.... I honestly think that whoever gets involved should be level headed and not prone to throwing their toys out of the pram and calling people c###s just because they don't like what they hear. What I have written conveys the opinion of a large number of folk who I have s -

Update On The National Lurcher Club.
desertbred replied to sandymere's topic in Lurchers & Running Dogs
As a potential member of the National Lurcher Club, (even though I only run pures) As far as Ihave been able to deduce. The matter to raise theprofile of working lurchers was raised by Giro a member on here this then led tp Dewclaw69 taking up the cause and he then contacted Country Alliance and Tim Bonner explaining the concerns of lurcher lads and the feeling that there was in general a lack of recognition and support within C/A for working lurchers Tim Bonner then offered a meeting with C/A down in London. A few like minded lads then began to communicate and the idea of a new group was m
