Further Update On New Lurcher Association
desertbred replied to Dewclaw69's topic in Lurchers & Running Dogs
I think two of the steering group members are from down your neck of the woods ,if you would offer to set up a meet up in a pub etc with your friends associates and any other interested parties in your locality they would come and answer any questions and talk through the aims and objectives of LAGBI. As would other members in the different localities around the country this is a national group even international to include Eire also so any local events meet ups etc should be arranged if possible even with existing groups and clubs who are interested, spreading the word is thew ay to grow and -

A young saluki x dont run it doubled up to often until it has enough experience single. You state its killed on the lamp etc so knows how to use its mouth. Now it needs plenty putting in front of it single it will learn how to go up and down the gears on a run. this comes with experience most young salukis want to push and push instead of dropping a gear letting the quarry settle and controlling the course, Time and more runs it will learn itself. Coursing doubled up the more experienced dog will take the lead this can lead to young dogs either hanging back or a fast dominant young dog will p

Any working dog breed cannot be separated or isolated from its natural instincts and traits. Additional skills can be taught to various breeds this is dependant on natural abilities and instincts. Lurchers from various crosses have been developed over time to suit environment, terrain and quarry. as well as preference of owners for certain traits, size colour coat etc. Man has through out history formed his bond and relationship with dogs to suit his needs be it as guard, hunter guide or just a companion. If the qualities are emphasised then any negative points that the non initiated might -

Further Update On New Lurcher Association

In the past members and Masters of foxhounds have faced prosecution under contravention of the Hunting with dogs act, I assume these hunts are members or represented on the C o H and in turn on the Country Alliance, Under a Code of Conduct it is expected that members of what ever group or association are operating and respecting the said code. No doubt some times these guide lines and codes are by accident broken and may have resulted in prosecution. The group or association should as a rule morally support its membership. Those who go out and blatently flout the code or break the present -

Surely the elected Committee would be expected to nail their colours to the mast regarding the Hunting Ban Legislation. The ultimate goal should be full repeal. This may be a goal to far but Cameron in his election speeches talked of Repeal later it was watered down for political expediency to Amendments.then due to the double standards of the SNP this amendment bill had to be postponed until more favourable conditions manifest themselves. . I note again one or two posts criticising ofyounger generation a lot of the idiots posting on f/b are far from younger elements Age unfortunately does -

I am a potential member and will when all the facts are presented then make my own decision.IF i want to be a member or stand for the committee that is my choice not yours so as you say tough. Those involved probably would reply to your input but maybe they have no inclination to enter into your little game. As for criticism you first need knowledge do you have any ? A lot of knowledge and what I dont know I ask questions and expect an answer unless there's something to hide by with holding your answer? Y.I.S Lee -

No one's throwing spanners.. Why meet TB and then discuss.. The discussion should of took place with all that expressed a intrest.. 12 intrested parties became 4.. I have no intrest to squabble on here.. Let the lads have meeting with TB and see what the outcome is.. 100 people said theyd join CA. I reckon within in 12 months if it's proposed and endorsed correctly that could swell to mid hundreds if not 1000. People are keen.. Let them have there say.. If you want there monies and support you have to give them something.. Even if that's hope.. L
