The CA have in place a code of conduct for lurchers and a representative at present, theres only place for one representative be that MFH, NCC ALC so where has TB offered you a seat on the CFH? Who represents your club on the CFH? A group of five respected people have been approached , in regard to drafting an agenda and presentation to place before Tim Bonner at the proposed meeting with C/A If these people accept the challenge it should be a powerful presentation to advance our cause..Once the parties have either accepted or refused the task requested their names will be posted, Hopefully they all are willing to take up the mantle for the challenge in front of us for the future of working dogs.

I had been reading the archived ALC web site and the articles that were offered in 2000 these related to doubled up NCC coursing and the unrecognised single handed coursing. I then read the poaching section which appeared to me to be a crucifiction notice for poaching lads, which incidentally the Hunting Act has forced lads into poaching if they want to follow their pass time,Selected clips of certain organised courses were used by Lacs to portray a barbaric interpretation of coursing they showed hares being slaughtered as they put it, they didnt show the numbers that made good their escape. If sufficient numbers go direct into C/A as Mr Bonner appears ready and willing to discuss, why is there a need for third or fourth party intervention why not Lurcher Section within C/A and a representative at the table cut all the red tape just a thought. We are getting bogged down on this ALC matter.

Certainly no one is asking for poaching to be legalised but if a farmer is willing to let individuals as opposed to clubs use his land why under present legislation should he be under threat of a conviction and £5,000 FINE if those running dont have a gun or bird is that legislation acceptable ? Tell lads we will change the law if you are part of an organised coursing club is that raising the profile ? wasnt the organised part what was focused on preban by the antis?

It was compiled in 2000 and was in favour of doubled up coursing and though not recognised by the NCC single handed coursing it appeared to go out of its way to sacrifice poachers and the script did bear a strange resemblance to literature used by Lacs to support their campaign to get hunting with dogs banned some 4 years later. May be you are right about the way public were encouraged to see lurcher owners , where they different to the organised coursers with permission. I suppose as long as some one still has permission and drives hares to guns or birds its still legal and the joe bloggs

You seem to be a supporter or possibly a member so you tell me. Do they have websites? Similar groups do even if they are by invitation only.

I am searching the web sites of Association of Lurcher Clubs, or alternatively Council of Hunting Associations without any success.Does any one know if these are by invitation only or are listed under alternative names

Time is drifting , some positive steps forward are needed we are just going round in ever decreasing circles . Dewclaw has the list of Area Reps been compiled if so it should be put up so lads know who their point of contact is in their area, also it will show which areas still require a rep. Lads can then raise their concerns and put forward any ideas suggestions they have to their area representative,, also once we have an inclination as to numerical strength we can then look into arranging a gathering to really get the wheels turning.The season is approaching lads will get busier as time

You appear to be discarding a lot of other people with expertise in plenty of areas. I dont doubt some people may have expertise in the feild but who has expertise in media and communicating with national bodies? maybe persons should let us know what attributes they can bring to the table? Its not about name change its about projecting a completely fresh image to get away from the images projected by LACS in previous onslaughts the ones that stick in the public mind its them we have to convince that we are the way forward and that Hunting preservation is about preservation of life. The term fit for purpose keeps coming in my mind the term has been used for organisations like the UN , the UK border agencies etc longevity does not always suit the time does it just a thought.

The foaming at the mouth and chomping is a bit of a Rabid description but many lads want to move it to the next level, As for you you can put thinking caps on regarding attracting members, forwarding suggestions you would like discussed make suggestions how you want to move forward . side issues need to go on the back burner and one thing is for sure no one person is bigger than what we want to achieve.

To me to much baggage is attached to the old association so why not a new one based on popular choice and the aspirations of today?Isnt the name Rebranding.
