    i normal be bang into me ferreting by this time of year but ive had a slow start with it being so mild. the cover has only just started to die back. been out twice so far for proper days ferreting this season. wasent long ago we were getting milky doe`s and even come across the odd mixi rabbit lately which ide of though should of gone dormant by now. these last few years the seasons are all fecked up, its different every year now.

    mine is the stuff they cover disco lights with mate, its thin and flexible so i attached it to a ring of perspex to make it stay flat.

    i said i would come on here and ask first because every vet around mine are money rackets! i hate the vets also mate, but somethings i just grit my teeth and take the dog to them. thing is with this, if ppl guess whats up and get it wrong the dogs fecked. only time my dogs go the vet is for there jabs when there pups and then something serious after that. most things i treat myself, cuts and stuff. but yours could turn out to be quite serious.

    when you say meat, do you mean just meat? or meat mixed with dry food /veg ect? vet tried to tell me the other week when i was getting the pups second injection that he shouldent be on raw meat as it makes the grow to quickly, but once i explained that he is on minced meat with decent fresh veg minced in and then his proper puppy food threw out the rest of the day. plenty of goats milk and fresh fish she saw what i was doing was good for him. is the pup getting much calcium in her diet? i read before about a lad with similar problems who started to feed baby follow on milk and it i

    i use my dog and have rifles as well, infact i do most all types of hunting. the rifles have taken a back seat since the dogs came of age and started to graft. i keep my rifle as i have some permission that i carnt use the dog on but that is about the only time i pick up the rifle nower days. its alot more sport running the dog, if the bunny gets away its deserves to get away, i get more enjoyment from watching the dog do his best, as long as he tries im happy even if he dont come back with his quarry. using the rifle is alot more clinical, when i put the x hair on a bunnys head a

    Ive had my pup 5 weeks now and everything he dose he whines about. only time he shuts up is when he is sitting on my knee or attacking the other dogs! lol sometimes i feel as though i could snap but he is getting better in the house. its mainly when ever we go somewhere or do something new. i pray to god he grows out of it lol.

    just put abit of plastic sticking down off the bottom of the filter with a loop of string on one of your fingers. it only needs a tiny pull to drop off the magnet. one problem ive had with mine is the wind flipping it back up!

    my dad has always told me how they used to smoke rats with nets made from bean tins with both ends cut off and stockings attached. then the tin shoved into the hole. ide do it myself as he said it was the best way they had ever done it but i dont have much chance of ratting.

    when its yer kid it dont matter if its an accident or not lol. ide want to kill anything that hurt my kid, whether it be a dog, human or what ever. its just those first few seconds of panic/rage till you realize its not that bad. as long as the bearn is ok all is well dogs eh lol i remember the time i told my mate to stop being a fanny cause the dog was running around and he thought it was gunner knock him over, just got the words out my mouth and he ran into me and sent me flying!

    he is 14 month mate, like you said on a closer look your pups head is a different shape. very very calm nature and good on the bunnys.

    well get it off bakers for a start. i wouldent touch any of that crap whether it be puppy or adult. ive always used beat puppy, always have always will (unless they change it). ppl have said they found there dogs to eat there own shit on beta but ive never had a problem and know loads of ppl who have never had a problem. i got 2 pups here now doing very well on beat puppy and minced raw meat/veg mine have always preferred the lamb beta.

    good on you mate. he looks a belter. my best dog came to me the same way mate, no idea whats in him but dont really care. hope he turns out to be great! just to rub the wankers nose in it! poor sod dident stand a chance in the hands of tossers like that. give him loads of time and be his best friend and he will come good mate, remember what he has been threw and as soon as he puts his trust in you i bet he is the most loyal dog you could ever wish for.

    its always cheaper to go secondhand and there are good deals to be had! but its up to you if you take the risk or not. try to get it off someone trust worthy as possible. buying blind off say ebay and you might get something someone has sold cause theres a problem. buy new will be more money but you get the piece of mind of a warranty and some were to go if it goes wrong. its very rear i buy new gear as most of it is so expensive but i know what im looking for and what it should do, even so ive been caught out a couple of times trusting ppl and buying blind off the internet! g

    shame your so far away ide of takin him out for a day to get him started. have fun! the most expensive part is probably the locator but its priceless in the field! my OPINION is never go without one, if you value your ferret and want to make sure you take it home at the end of the day. a ferret that kills in first thing on a morning can spoil your whole day if you carnt find it to dig it out. and go spun poly or 8oz/10oz nylon for the nets, hemps ok but you have to take more care of them and dry them out at the end of the day. stay away from 4oz nylon nets! nothing but a pain

    were are you? best advice i could give you is to sort out a days ferreting for him. going out and being with the lads who are doing it will give him a much better idea of what he needs to have. basics a ferret, i prefer males (hobs) 1 or 2 hutch, double if you want 2 males as they can fight so need to be separated, even though most of the time there fine together. ferret box, for carrying them around. nets, decent quality ones around 25 is a good amount to get you going. ferret locator!, a bit of kit ide never go with out. spade, to dig to the ferret when needed. theres l
