i have spent a day with a certain elite unit watching their dogs work they mostly use cz shephards and f$%k me you wouldnt want to be on the wrong end.they import them from the continent and have to be the most impressive dogs ive ever seen.looks like a bigger malinois but racier than a gsd. one dog had seven confirmed kills!!

hi guys, sadly i lost my beddy whippet recently to a heart failure while out the local fields with the lamp, totally out of the blue with no signs of any problems at only 2yrs and 8mnth old....devastated not the word. he was never worked hard as i was happy with 4/5 rabbits a session which was all i wanted.he was the family pet and bestest friend which went everywhere with me literally and still filled the freezer.he was perfect for what i asked of him and i feel totally lost without my shadow following me around. im not in a rush but i do miss having a dog around the house and

for the price of an early defender (1990 on i believe) you can get an 90/110 with a disco engine retro fitted which basically makes it a defender but having the advantage of being older that comes under classic insurance . before i had my defender i had a series 3 and cost just quid a year to insure (26 yrs old,0 no claims.2nd car tho). but only get a landy if you want a landy because if you just want a 4x4 for the dogs you can get comfier, reliability and economy for far less with a jap one.

whats it like to train a bedlington/whippet???
brunty29cdo replied to Red-Rocks's topic in Lurchers & Running Dogs
i have an 18 month old 3/4 whippet 1/4 beddy hes a pet that often puts food on the table from daytime mooching and occasional lamping and he does it all no problem. i dont go out for big numbers just out for a rabbit or two for the pot now and again and he is happy hunting, walk round park ,back of landrover or sleeping on the sofa. training wise he aint no collie or spaniel obeying every command but he comes when called, retrieves and walks to heal . he doesnt yap, infact you hardly know hes around.hes perfect for what i want and id have another one tomorrow. -
i have a pair of le chameux wellie which are neoprene lined, soft rubber and very comfy.they are rather expensive but id have another pair when they give up the ghost
