  3. nice pic's pat, I knew that pile would be a pain in the ar$e you going next weekend rew; the poles and basket are from MAGNUM'S added onto a pair of 50yd longnets nice to see Inan back in the pictures

  6. sounds like you had some fun, but why do you only enter single ferrets, have always found it best to enter 2's and 3's to get the bunnies panicking and bolting, rather than just out running a single fert within the warren

    Help

are you using end pins?? I made a few sets from cheap 99p rod rest's, cut off the rod rest bit, bend a large square as ya handle, with about 8" of point, i covered mine in old hose pipe, to stop the net getting tangled on any bits of metal, when collecting your net in, holding the pin in right hand, reach out and take hold of both top and bottom runner about a yard away, then push the spike of end pin, through the net about 2 holes down from the held together top and bottom, continue doing this to end of net, where the other end pin is placed alongside the pin with all the net on, and ru
  10. I caught a COLD with one once, took me age's to get rid of it
  11. and as for you skippy yup we did all learn somewhere,
  12. the reason for being sarky mate; read the first reply to your post, the poster says "get a pair" you totally dis-regaurd his advice and rather than coming back with the question "why" you simply state again " I only want one" that was my reason to post as I did, rather than offer advice, as it seemed advice was already falling on deaf ears, now a few more experienced keepers have vioced to keeping singles, but then they aint you are they... single dogs, fine, they get to be with there owner daily, single ferret stuck in a cage at bottom of garden/yard, needs more than a glance as you
  13. nice pictures richie, got myself a new 100yd'er longnet (quickset) for xmas,
  14. so straight away you have no respect for your intended pet/worker by disregaurding it having the company of its own kind
  15. well happy with the 100yd'er I got off you today mate, catches rabbits very well
  16. was probably about 3 months DEAD, before pat dug it up, ferts had marked it and were coming back up with fur on their claws, we try our best not to leave any rabbits un-dug even after the ferts have moved on
  17. like everything in life, there's for and against the mk3 collars, use mine on the smallest setting and work fine
  18. another good day pat, just sorry you forgot to bring that one home you wanted nice using that new net too
  19. always try the easiest option first..... radiator/airing cupboard/hair dryer are all good 1st try's
  20. as to the above post; the rabbit is at its fastest, with a ferret up its arse, 20yds away from a burrow is a bit optomistic, the guys only got one net, as long as the bag is there its fine, having a 20yd gap means the rabbit can change his mind, and therefore direction, burrows close to the net can always be pursed if felt needed
  21. no offence was taken, just search back couple pages mate, you'll find loads on the subject
  22. get yaself a book on ferret husbandry and learn about breeding season etc take your time and learn as much as possible, sort out their hutch/living quarters etc, then, summer time, get yourself ya ferrets, that way your offering them the best start in life, rather than jumping in with ya eye's shut
  23. working fine now mate, although billy looked fine, you on the other hand, were all over the place with the camera, who's been eating all the pie's fingers crossed ill see ya sat, pm ya thurs nite
  24. its just a different shade of pink...right
  25. not bad for ya first attempt though, Id say, when putting a long net completely around the holes, either purse net every 5th hole inside, this helps if they start popping up and down within the circle, backnetting etc or get another net or two to divide the circle into halves or even quarters your poles look rather high, net only needs to be around 20 inches or so from floor, this in turn will give you more bagg, and the net needs to be stretched between poles, no slack on top/bottom runners, but photo's dont show alot of bagging between poles either, maybe fixed ya net out, a
