  1. Had some on our suzuki excellent off road but not good on road, in the damp all they would do was oversteer changed to goodyear wrangler a/t which are awsome on any surface, worlds apart but double the price. YOU ONLY GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR!
  2. got two franchi's ian, 28'' franchi harrier o/u and a 612 franchi auto. I have nothing but praise for these guns , you get alot of quality for the money mate. I've put thousands of cartridges through them both with out any problems at all. All new Franchi's come with a 3 year gmk warranty!!! I got the harrier brand new for £640, can't see me changing for a very long time. GET YOUR WALLET OUT
  3. i never run my mixture to rich as to much smoke will kill the rats underground by affixiation.
  4. just been granted a .222 for fox on my first fac. The best bit was i put down for a .22lr because i was told by various people that, that was all i'd get. The firearms officer came around and i showed him the land and he even suggested i change my application and add on a .222!. I was like a kid in a sweet shop!. He said he treats every application on a individual basis if he thinks your sensible and know your facts he will grant you anything within reason. good luck
  5. I think not, what makes you think this...there are some (many) shoots where they are frowned on, but nothing illegal...you can perfectly legally shoot a game bird with a rifle if you want as well!! Im a keeper on a grouse moor and carry a gun in the line when there;s to many birds left at the end of the season. i used to carry my auto untill two different knowledgable head keepers told me this. You can only shoot game with a rifle if you have it down on your cetificate. You can only shoot whatever it says on your FAC, but there is nothing illegal about shooting a game bird with
  6. hiho just confirmed to me you've never used a auto! I know your only a young lad don't want to slag you off but a auto is alot faster to reload. it is legal to shoot game with a auto, its only the safety aspect people are worried about.
  7. Yes it seems the O/U lanber guns are quite well regarded, I have seen one of these also and liked how it handled etc, 400 s/h, Where can I purchase a new one for £600? I payed just over 600 for a brand new franchi harrier 28'' m/c about a year ago, and have found it excellent value for money, must have put 3000 cartridges through it now with know problems. The lanber was around the same sort of price i think it retails around 800. I must admit i do like to bargin abit so shop around. If they have the gun in stock it makes alot of difference on the deal they will do, not many firms will
  8. hiho Posted Today, 08:01 PM o/u more reliable and faster to load and you will be more likely to be aloud on organised pheasant/grouse shoots semi auto one extra shot less reliable less likely to be allowed on organised shoots o/u faster to load than a auto? the reason i bought a auto was the fact its alot quicker and easier to load in a pigeon hide than a o/u.Don't rush into anything, if you want a gun to do everything, game , clays etc get a o/u. Save up a extra £200 and you'll be able to afford a brand new Franchi/lanber or even a second hand beretta. ps both lanber/franc
  9. good vermin session by sounds of it bobo, is that a franchi 612 auto i see there?
  10. Rich tea biscuit with a covering of peanut butter placed at the back of the cage, this works a treat, extremely cheap if you are baiting 10 at a time like i do.
  11. who said it would be unbaited? You didn't rub me up the wrong way sorry if i came accros abit like that just wanted to explain reasoning for the wire!!! . Do tend to use live traps around peoples houses but if their is a large number of rats i do use fenns as well and baited with abit of peanut butter. When setting fenns in the field i feel no bait is required just as long as the soil is disturbed.
  12. The mesh is on their for a reason to stop/ detare non target species getting in . I always make sure the entrance is a good 8/10 inches away from the trap, so mister cat can't get his paws in, or mister protected bird doesn't get in.I have seen both cat and bird in a fenn trap, not ones set by me though. THIS is the major point though if you are getting rid of a paying customers vermin do you think they would pay up if their cat has a broken leg? I don't think so.BETTER SAFE THAN SORRY.
  13. The weather in lincolnshire for the passed few days has been terrible, heavy showers every hour.So with a day off work i decided to have a tidy up in the workshop when i came across some new mk4 fen traps (genuine ones !!) which i had bought at a game fair earlier in the year. So because i had a day with time on my hands, me and the father set to to make a few boxes out of all the offcut wood and scrap wire we had lying around. One hour later theses are what we came up with. Not perfect as some of the wood was abit rough but good enough to do the job.
