  1. its possible, if they are split for silver, ie have silver parents or grandparents,
  2. with batteries in the right way round in both the locator and collar, simply turning the switch to turn it on, should start giving you a knocking noise, if it aint, it aint working
  3. hi all, and ditch, you'll remember i posted about the wood burning stove i picked up, well its all fitted in the shed, and a new ash pan made for it, ive had a few test fires in it, but only using kindling, so what wood will be best to use, to keep some form of fire/heat going
  4. well, we picked up our chickens today, ended up taking 8 instead of the intended 6, as they had so many, dont look as bad as I expected, feather wise they are ok, I was expecting oven ready chicken look, I'll post some pictures tomorrow or monday, once they have settled in
  5. if you think about it, all your doing is imatating the sound of a young, or wounded animal, the ferret being a predator is just investigating what could be an easy meal, trust me, its not a magic whistle
  6. welcome to the forum, nice to see someone that aint affraid to show there face

    pump

so go to a better shop
  8. does your hob have these
  9. how old is your hob? normally a hob comes into breeding condition, and stays that way, my hobs (4) all have humungous testicals (bollocks) on them, they dont appear and disappear on different days, even with the drop in tempreture,
  10. so why have you not put your details up in the pinned topic, top of ferret section, titled owners with vasectamised hobs but meeting "close to you" is a bit slap dash, better if members can bring a jill to you, to go in with the hob for a few days not really something that can be done in a pub car park

your missing the connector hose, simply take it to your nearest gun shop, they should be able to help you out with the correct fitting one for your gun
  12. we tend to get hole hoppers when we ring a warren with a longnet, as already advised, a way to stop this is to either run a small stop net across the inside of the circle, or/also, purse netting a few holes (every 5th one) within the longnetted area, this helps if they start hole hopping, as you get the chance of them backnetting themselves, also as already stated, we tend to put 6 to 7 ferts down, gets the rabbits panicking a lot more, start an equal amount of ferts, from opposite ends, rabbits can then hole hop, into the path of the oncoming ferts
  13. honestly, I cant belive some peoples questions on here your asking for "disadvantages of a muzzle, whats the advantages then, apart from killing underground, defeats the point of rabbiting in my book, underground or overground the rabbit loses(felt a womble song coming on there) if you cant afford a locator just yet, save up and start ferreting again after the summer,
  14. dont worry about the smell mate, he'll be able to carry out his duties for some months yet
  15. quote; I dont mind taking the risks of ratting and so on of course you aint, your not the one getting stuffed down a hole, with the possibility of getting bittern
  16. think you'll find that "lump" is his penis (willy) bit like ours, it goes up and down
  17. the lack of replies could be numberous reasons firstly your location, no good me saying Ive got some in essex, because of the distance, or as keepers havent produced young yet, they may not want to count their chickens before they hatch, so to speak give it another month or two and maybe try asking again
  18. just carry on as normal, maybe supporting the rear half/legs with your other hand when picking up etc

  20. my bike our scooters how do you like my wallpaper job on the scoot, was a scratched up scooter from e bay, so just wallpapered it in copies of the sport, and all those wacky headlines
  21. always knew you were a mod in both senses of the word, me and my other half, tend to play both sides of the fence, although would never class ourselves as rockers, but just bikers, but for bombing around town, theres nothing better than scooters, even went down camden market a few years back an got myself a proper fish tail parker my other half on her bike
  22. only take his advice on the "spading" if your sure you'll not want to breed from her in the future, did he say what the seepage was? can understand its related to the breeding season, but if he's given an antibiotic has he said, that would sort it out, but the spading would stop it happening again?
  23. the mk1 has a wheel, this should be numbered, although the numbers do wear off with age, you can get new wheel stickers from deben, click it on an wind it all the way around, thats your 15ft setting, as you walk around waving it, you should get the knocking noise as your pointing in the right direction, by passing the locator over the area that the ferret is in/under you can pinpoint where the spot it, then you start turning the wheel back, as the signal (knocking) gets to a point of dissapearing, you then read off the number, printed on the wheel, which gives you a depth in feet, as to how far
