  2. after totally clearing them from under the chicken coop, we found we had another family of mice under the concrete slab of the garage, entering the garage for the animal feeds, caught one yesterday, then three today, noticed the smaller mouse on the double catch, has had his head eaten
  3. could well be, when they want blood, theres no stopping them, lol

  5. why unhelpful , you asked a question, and he answered it, without using uneccessary language,
  6. think you need to handle these ferrets a lot more, a ferret that bites, is no use to anyone
  7. or eat them down under lots of its and buts here, the above is just my opinion, after all, they arnt even his ferts, but a mates,
  8. Id say YES and NO, as I do belive deben do a mk3 terrier, with a range of 40ft, if you had THAT mk3 terrier set, although it would probably work with a normal mk3, that would only have a range of 16ft
  9. many years ago, I had 3 jills, eat a hob, have to say, in this instance, Id knock the hob on the head, as he'll never be able to trust, it wont do it again, and whats the point of keeping an animal you dont trust
  10. 3/4"x3/4" is a good size, in a heavy grade wire, chicken wire can be bittern through, let me know what sort of sizes you need, as Ive got bits spare this is what I have on all my cages/court
  11. the writing on the forum menu gives a good indication of the section I'll move it to lamping for ya

  14. if he still has balls, even if she has taken, he will want to rag her, better to keep them split till after the summer/kitts weaned
  15. If I were you, Id pm woodga and buy his snaring dvd, it'll not only tell you about tensioning your snares, it'll show you how to make you own snares and tealers, saving you ££££££££££'s
  16. Id re think the design, as although you need to narrow the ends, to stop non target species entering, you also need to beable to get the trap in and out
  17. well writtern and an interesting read
  18. how long did you leave them for mate you should only leave them for 2 days max sorry to here about that its all about keeping a check on things, have kept ferrets for years, all together in the court, jills come into season at different times, as long as a daily check is kept, I assure you my hobs are left in longer than two days, but once the jills have been taken out of season(snipped hobs) the hob is not interested in them, presume they are not giving out the same smells, once most of the jills are out of season, the hobs are removed to cages, and only put back in, if a singular jill
  19. if your not feeding freshly caught as in rabbit/pidgeon etc, I'd suggest getting some chicken legs/wings from the supermarket, chop into chunks and give that, bone and all, I'd feed mince, if I'd minced it myself, but shop bought stuff has a high water content to it,
  20. I bet you have to run fast, to race a greyhound sorry, could'ent resist
  21. you'll always get mixed opinions on ferreting in summer, at the end of the day, its your choice, I'll always see it from a landowners point of view, its a pest that they want rid off, NOW... not later last week I had a call from a lady, whose friend gets me to ferret her paddock a few times a year, anyway, she had been given my number, I ferreted it this morning, caught 5 rabbits, lost a good 8 from un netted areas, plus all the young rabbits simply hopped through the longnet, I purposly didnt take the dog, so theres plenty rabbits left there, BUT, Ive shown my face, ferreted when THEY WAN
  22. are there rabbits there to begin with I tend to bait certain areas first, with no trap, check what time the rabbits are feeding, as this will be different from place to place, it could well be field mice eating your carrot, try setting to trap plate more sensitive, and get the carrot behind this, not in front, placement of the trap is important, is it a garden, a field, where? any live catch traps, make sure you check at least every 24hrs, but preferbly every 12hrs
  23. only you know what she looks like, if her vulva is reducing in size, then Id split them, is he a snipped or intact hob
