Awesome pic, the top one. Are there any crocs in there? Great cloud formations and colours in the second. -

Here is one I took in 1980 as a teenager on an old kodak instamatic. It is of one of my favorite places in the UK, The Summer Isles, of the north west coast of Scotland. The picture is very poor quality, as the transparancy has deteriated, and the camera was one of the cheapest of the time, but the memories of the fantastic sunsets you get up there are strong. In old Dornie harbour, at the bottem of the picture, at low tide it was full of thousands of sea urchins, and Isle Ristol in the mid picture had a cracking white sandy beach, that was great for landing the boat and having a picnic, in -
As well as portrait, its a good fast lens for low light stuff. I have the nikon equivelent and its a cracker.

Paulus, the problem is often one of two things. A fast enough shutter speed and /or the cameras auto focus not working quick enough. One thing you could try is manually set the shutter speed to as high as the light will let it go, and increasing the iso may help. This of course may make the picks a little grainy. Looking at them again some other parts of the photo seem OK and its the moving birds which alone seem to be more out of focus, which could just mean too slow a shutter speed.

Nothing says they have to be proofed, so I can only think it was for not having it on his ticket. The whole thing is a farce though as there are no serial numbers on my suppressors anyway to link them with the ticket. Some suppressors though, obviously are only made for air rifles, and others are only suitable for rimfires

Yep same as moxy, just wrap the draw cord around them tight and place them back in the net bag, pocket. I dont bother with elastic bands or socks etc

i shoot with a 20 bore. its an age thing I do to, that or the 28. I don't know if its an age thing or not. I put it down to knowing that you don't need a 12 bore with heavy carts, for 90% of the things I shoot, and I can kill just as far!

Kids are funny. My lads 20bore is a Sabbati o & u but it has the single trigger. Cheap but it does the job!

Swans shot....What ever happened?.
tegater replied to PLEDGEY's topic in Rimfire, Centrefire & Shotguns
Same thing happened in Cambridgeshire. They had a big feature on it on the local radio at the time. They said that poaching was on the increase in the area, with sheep being killed and professionally butchered - farmers just finding the remains in the field, swans being breasted, rivers been dragged with nets to get all the fish etc... same sort of story here --- immigrants been getting the blame for it--- That was the conclusion here too from the reports. I cant understand it, they dont even taste nice -
Yes as I said there nothing wrong with them, especially with some butter, a little salt and a sprig of mint added. I might have been expecting something different, but they are ok.
-
Yes they are ok and yield well. I usually stick about 4 of them in poly pots with some vitax q4 mixed in. They are not the most flavoursome, but there is nothing wrong with them.

Number of FAC holders on land.
tegater replied to Jesse James's topic in Rimfire, Centrefire & Shotguns
Ask the landowner as they are the only person who will know who currently has permission. Written permission is only valid if it still has the consent. For example it is nothing to do with the expiry date of your ticket, so somebody who once had permission and has it listed on their ticket, may not actually have it in reality. If that makes sense. ok yes makes sense,we bought the land ,so the previous guys shooting on still try and come in and shoot. If you have bought the shooting rights, then you have the say on who shoots on it. If you have bought the land, then you have the say -

I second that, I always say to my lads, watch them coming in through the hide if poss, then once well in range, stand up and they are all yours. They are too small to always shoot sitting down.lol.

Love to see the titmouse's on the feeders. -
I usually put out 4-5 decoys, and think about where you set them up with relation to where they normally feed and wind etc. I then add to the pattern as I kill more. I always keep a freshly shot one in the hide to launch into the air if I get a percher a few hundred yards away, or a passing crow that hasnt seen the decoys. It brings them in a treat. I have even used my black wooly hat to the same effect. 6,s will be fine, but I often use 5,s on crows, but that is just my preference. Get there at first light if you can as they are very early risers and I shoot the majority within t

This may make it clearer for you Chris. I think you should be OK This is a paragraph from the Home Office Guidance. Shot guns 6.14 Section 11(5) of the 1968 Act allows an individual, without holding a shot gun certificate, to borrow a shot gun from the occupier of private premises and use it on those premises in the occupier’s presence. The presence of the occupier is normally taken to mean within sight and earshot of the individual borrowing the firearm. The term “occupier” is not defined in the Firearms Acts, nor has a Court clarified its meaning. However, the Firearms Consul

why is most uk stalking carried under 150 yeards ?
tegater replied to midnight's topic in Deer Stalking & Management
Skill and respect for the quarry. The brain is a very small target on a deer, which is why most people shoot for the heart and lungs. A .17hmr bullet is quite a large projectile on a rabbit, in comparrison to a .308 on a deer. A rabbit hit centre chest with a .17hmr will nearly always suffer catastrophic damage, where as the bullet on a chest shot with a deer has to be pretty accurate to drop that deer instantaneously, and even many accuratly placed hits will cause the deer to run before dropping. Many shooters will tell you about the long range hits, with .17hmr/.223/.308 etc but fail to te -
I just resize pictures and then attach them. If you havent got photoshop, there are some cracking free programmes out there, and one I keep on a pendrive so I can use it in any computer is "Faststone image viewer" Here is the link to it, and you can do all sorts such as slideshows, basic manipulation etc. It is a stand alone programme, and doent have to be installed on a computer to use. http://www.faststone.org/ Hope this is of some use to you, and others of course

Yes its the one without the guthook, although they make one with a gut hook, I am not sure. Yep it does stand up to some quite rough treatment, but you have to keep the blade lightly oiled when not in use as a result of the high carbon content. Nice thick blade on it. Cold Steel used to have a similar advertising video, were a feller was using a basic Cold Steel Tanto knife to slice through a gym rope in one cut! Not the big sword.
