ok cheers, got plenty of permission do some foxing work with the local gamekeeper, thought it would be a good time to start because its not the time for ferreting i could get to know the ferret more and how to care for them before they bunny bashing starts haha cant wait seen it done but never had the opportunity to do it before One of the very best forms of hunting imo.

Genuine interest to start with, and a lot of dedication to their welfare. After that, nets, locator, collars, probe, spade, net bag, carrying boxes and potentially travel box for car. If your going to use your dogs then you may or may not skip the nets. You then need some permission with plenty of rabbits. All the best.

Some decent ones amongst those. The second mallard looked like it had potential to be a great reflection shot, if you had composed it differently. The young rabbit in the rows of crops, although fuzzy, looks like a scene from peter rabbit.

We eat them now, and so do many others I know, but because we don't get big rookeries around here, they don't get shot and chucked.

Any time around the second week in May. Rook pie is great, but mix them with a bit of pigeon. Also remember, to shoot the branchers only if they need killing, and not just because you want to have a go at it. Enjoy your pie! Don't waist the meat.

I only commented as I don't think you had the right to effectively question his service, coupled with the fact that it seems you're the one who's been googling 'facts'. You can't say its almost certainly his scope and or mounts, just based on the fact that your mate has one with a fancy scope and his is alright! Give the lad some help, and tell him why its almost certainly the scope. -
Tell him that if you get a licence, you realise you will always have to behave and knock around with the right mates. My 11 year old son has just got his first certificate, and the feo, said they are all for kids getting them for that reason. It will give you a lot of responsibility.
