  1. Good effort and a sensible distance.
  2. Give it a few more weeks and the undergrowth will start to collapse. Nice report though.
  3. Nice looking fish, and great sport. Might nip out for a spin myself tomorrow on our little river!
  4. Yes, you need good reason to be granted a fac, and that would usually be target or vermin control. It is unlikely but not impossible that you would be granted an fac purely for vermin, without proof you have somewhere to shoot. Yes, the .22 gives you a greater range and more killing energy.
  5. Cheapest is probably a second hand brno or CZ in .22 rf. You don't even need to spend a fortune on a scope. You can pick these rifles up in most decent gunshop, or guntrader will have a good selection.
  6. Got quite close whilst out on a walk with the dog.
  7. Bob, as dazzam said make sure you turn the collars off after use, but also don't store the collars right next to the receiver or any other magnet, as it is possible for the collars to be turned on accidently. I keep them in separate pockets in net bag.
  8. No mate, nothing gets wasted with me. The upstream mepp is deadly on this little river. You are lucky to get grilse, we only get little brownies and grayling on our little rivers.
  9. Don't think so buddy check the law re rats and rabbits! Don't jump onto the anti dog bandwagon!
  10. Brilliant, some great fishing now. Mepps are deadly, yet when I was a kid I hated them! Hope you don't waste it!
  11. did i tell you the 22 is better Lol.
  12. Can't help you out, but how has he managed to end up with it all, if it was shared land you both found between you?
  13. Sounds like she is going to be a cracker. Nice report.
  14. Ok maybe I should have explained a little with my first post to you. What you say about the .22, I agree with you on, it just won't do the job I need the hmr on, when needing to kill stuff at 150+, and a CF, is not a viable option, in terms of cost and occasionly location. The velocitors I have no opinion on, and I assume you are thinking of someone else. I will use whatever I can get as I generally only use a .22 at closer ranges, but usually eley or win subs. I never consider myself to be experienced or even a good shot, I just do what I do, and get on with it. However I am alway
  15. i think your away with the fairies on this one my comments to your post are in "" Ok pal, I don't think I need to say any more, you have done enough. For your info, I use a whole variety of calibres in both a professional and sporting capacity and I love the .22, but it will not do, on the moors what I want it to do. When I am driving or walking around and I see a crow at 150, then I want that crow dead. A .22 simply cannot do this consistently, unless you are still asleep. Tell me about the deer though that is really interesting?. I will reply tomoz though as I am off out now.

  17. I don't know where to start, but the mention of deer in a post re .22 and .17 hmr is just a start. Subs and hv, yea ok! .22 make you a better shot! Haha, techniqe makes you a better shot. I'm working away at the min, so cannot reply in full from a laptop, but hopefully you get the jist.
  18. The most naive post on rifle shooting I have read for ages, haha. How posts like this will come back to haunt you.
  19. We have an Apple tree in our garden, I don't know what variety but it is an eater, and it is usually covered in apples. This year not one. Very few bees though and this must be my first year ever I haven't seen a wasp. Pretty grim for insects we need!
  20. That option was discussed. lol Knowing the Team that was out that day very supprised it didnt happen, seems to me that they were very lucky the old bill turned up Very lucky for them
