  1. Beat me to it... He's in.a bit of a Jam now...
  2. Cracking bit of land that mate
  3. Sorry mate that don't make sense.. Why would you slip a 5 month pup on a dropped rabbit at 150 yards, when they're nearly at the hedge? Your putting the pup.at a disadvantage which most won't make up. Surely your first runs with any pup you stack all.tje odds in the pups favour.. im not into droppers personally, and at that age the pup would be exposed to a bit of ferreting , holding rabbits in the nets etc.. The first few runs would-be on a wet and windy night, walking right up to squatters and slipping straight away, middle of field put all the odds on the pup catching them.
  4. A labour of love mate, I've been in the building game neatly 30 years, I've probably learnt more in the 8 years I've been here than the previous 20! Lol
  5. You know the task mate, you've seen it! Lol.. it seems to grow every time you start another room...100s of years of farmers cobbling it together lol
  6. Trying to lay anything level, ot even flat is a challenge in this place.. String lines along every joist, had to cut firings to take out the bow so we can eventually tile the floor in this bathroom, it's straight now and fairly level... what a game!
  7. Mrs just made these for me and Bro in law whilst we're grafting... I knew there was a reason I married her..lol

    Cruises.

Loved Barbados, Oistins fish market when they have the speakers on the street, brilliant food, all the locals out dancing, drinking in the shacks...great place.. Been to Antigua last 2 years, lovely place, we never found great food, but some average local stuff... very friendly place, had great times with the locals fishing, cooking up on the beach etc.. Got married in St Lucia, beautiful place but not as friendly as Antigua or Barados... Regards a cruises, wouldbt be for me i don't think, I like to bugger off and do what I want, walking round old towns and people watching is ha
  9. Jeez mate, that's sad.. My brother is my best mate, we've been business partners for nearly 30 years and he's the bloke I trust the most in the world... we've been through a lot together as kids and adults.. so that's heartbreaking to read for me... I can't offer any advice as although I've lost a couple of people close to me, one in particular who helped shape who i am and was certainly very much a man I loved like a father, I haven't lost a brother or a really close family member... I wish you the best though mate, raise a glass, play a song or quietly think, whatever it is t
  10. Yeah too expensive in high season, plus too many people... we've been going for years, normally end of summer and Feb time.. This trip was a treat from my cousins for us hosting their wedding here, not a bad deal for them I reckon lol
  11. No Mate, its Watergate Bay Hotel in Cornwall, a fair lump bigger than our place!!
  12. I did say the same Joe, it wasn't well recieved! lol
  13. Exeter on itv, no VAR and they play like a Sunday side...switch over you'll love it
  14. Absolutely, agree with all of that mate... to get "caught" with the ball at the back was a crime in the past, "clear your lines" a shout that went up most times it was near a centre back.. so up in the air went the ball for the scrap to win first and 2nd balls... Now it's "take a touch", "time", "play out" etc.. I was a talker on the pitch, but one of only a few at our standard in most teams.. the amature sides talk far better now as well, it's more constructive... its certainly not as phulysical, no where near, but to a man they are better footballers
  15. I watched Tiverton play last season, always played a decent standard and was/is one of the top local non league sides, they played the same style as pro sides, passing out from the back, the centre backs happy to have the ball, the full backs always the out ball.. building in phases up through the pitch.. its no longer "put it into the big centre forward and play off him"!. No doubt the standard of football played is up quite a few notches, it's taken English sides quite a few years to play the European way.. Spain were obviously the blueprint, retain possession, meant everyone had to be comfo
  16. You suddenly feel very small! Fair play to the lad, he stayed pretty calm and worked out a plan quickly.
  17. I remember my uncle saying the same to me in the 90s compared to his time in the 60s/70s.. Nothing stays the same, the game has changed massively, I miss the physicality of the older generations, the speed and directness....even the muddy pitches and orange balls in the snow... but the skill levels and fitness levels in and modern game, plus the pace is incomparable imo.. I'd rather the style of those 90s teams without doubt, but that's cause I'm looking through older man's eyes
  18. Thank you mate Exactly the same if your this way..
  19. 7 am flight out of Bristol, at the dogs around 5pm (i think), I'd rather meet you when I'm not a long way into a session mate..lol.. My lad came up with us, he loved it, met some geordie youngsters and went on clubbing with them on the Friday night/sat morning..reckoned about 15 of them together at the end, treated him really well, he loved it up there... Definitely catch up next time I'm up that way mate..
  20. He used every pot and pan, my Mrs was left with the aftermath! Lol
  21. I'll have a dabble at that, not a gambler particularly either but must be worth a tenner.. Talking of gambling was up your way last weekend at the dogs in Newcastle, stag do... lost 100 quid on the dogs but had a great weekend, do love a night out in Newcastle
  22. Was going to say the same, if the odds are half decent must be worth a little punt on that...
  23. Exactly the same here, my eldest is back with us after her split with her bloke, it will always remain the safety net and first place to call.. we've got more than enough space, it's bonkers in here sometimes but I kind of like it that way..lol
  24. What a treat.. My lad said he'd do a roast for when we got home today, fair play to the lad he done a great job..
