  1. Biggest in Scotland now! Very well done.
  2. I've been stalking Does the last 2 nights on a 50 acre Rape field. We saw 26 Roe last night and 21 tonight, all the bucks were cast and 4 or 5 had a good growth under velvet. I found out the reason so many were out in the field once we got to the wood on it's boundary. The floor of the wood was totally flooded out, forcing the deer to couch up in the grass margin of the rape field. Mark.
  3. By far the best fowling club in this area! I'll be there on the 6th.
  4. We've had 4 so far with a lot more to come! I always take out the yearling Does first to stock the freezer up, their the best eating! Mark.
  5. I've had quite a few goose and duck rings over the years. The oldest goose had been rung for 14 years and was 3+ years old when ringed. The reports they send are very interesting. Cheers, Mark.
  6. Well done mate! It looks as thick as your thumb up at the tine ends!! Let us know if it makes GOLD. Cheers, Mark.
  7. Only in certain part of England, there is NO wildfowling permitted in Scotland on Sundays. Mark.
  8. Thanks guys. I think I'll have a go at filming on my own next time, without a gun. I'd like to get some footage of big bucks from my high seats. I just need to get some time to do it first!!! Cheers, Mark.
  9. I have the level 2 certificate for meat hygiene and handling. I also had to register my chiller with Fife council as a primary food producer. Mark.
  10. I sit my rifle in a warm room for a while then spey with plenty of water repelling oil like WD40 to get any moisure out of all the corners. I then give the bolt a good clean and rub the barrel down. Heres the video of our stalk, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hXA-LC9TvLc Mark.
  11. It was raining bucket loads this morning yet we still shot this big fella at 06:15. I've seen him twice in the last 5 days at this spot so we took it nice and slow and came across him feeding in the game crop, shot him at 20 meters. I got 5 minutes of the buck feeding then the shot all on video. A dark 7 pointer, should make a silver medal. Mark.
  12. Volume gets most of the points when dealing with large trophys so is more important than weight. Some areas have dense antler so the weight might be good but the volume will be poor. Mark.
  13. If you haven't had any deer on the land for 4 years I personally wouldn't think about shooting the first one that you see. Not unless you want another 4 year wait? Mark.
  14. I've shot many a good buck in sh1tty weather, they tend to stay a bit closer to the cover. You've just got to get up close and personal!! Mark.
  15. I bought 6 dozen last summer and the first day out I used them on a Rape stubble and the guy shot 92! I though they were going to be the dog's danglies. Since then I used them on several days when they certainly flaired birds off the pattern, and several experienced clients said they didn't think they were any good. I got the impression that they look good from a distance but crap up close, and the pigeons maybe think the same!!!! I started mixing them in with other decoys and dead birds but now I don't use them any more at all. Mark.
  16. That's a 300 sausage stag if ever I've seen one!!!!
  17. If you have a 3" gun try Express Max Game 50g in #1's Or in 2 3/4" Express Super Game 42g in #3's They are easy to get hold of and won't cost a fortune. Mark.
  18. Here is an old buck with quite long tines. Mark.
  19. My lab was jumpy to the gun when he was young but I did the Clay ground trick. Took a dummy and worked him for a while in the car park, then slowly worked up next to the skeet range. A few nights at this and he was fine. Mark.
