  1. I used a nv monical before today and I find after I use it I struggle to see in the dark as it pulls my vision also takes away some of the excitment as I have an idea how full the net could possibly be. If I was a pasti it would be nv every drop
  2. you can control the speed and direction rabbits will travel just by your own actions. Obviously not every rabbit but as a general rule you can. TC thats my point. you can get them all to go fast but some sprint and you can not slow them down.. i just don not write/ explain myself very well i have seen a bunny (full moon out wi mr wilk) run down a banking for 50 yds and through a gate then sprint a thurther 100 yds to hit a net.. absolutly no way i could have slowed that down unless i had sat mr wilks near the gate and got him to stick out his foot as it ran past but a good net
  3. clearly your doing something right

  5. i dont think you can control the speed the bunnies run at, true you could probably make them go faster but the skitty ones that are always going to sprint and wont slow down no matter how slow and steady you are.. now the bounce off is imo a bit more controlable although in netting game nothing is a given.. in the video if i remember was hemp net well for a start i would get rid of that and have sheet neting or engels if it was possible. 4z, double knitt and a correct set net with ample bagging will limit this as the bunnies ball up and if its of a good size mesh the head of the rabbit is
  6. i think i seen it a few weeks ago but i thought it was just an odd pair of end pins left on the side
  7. i had a green/blue net that was sold to me and it came in the wrong mesh size.. its the 3.5inch mesh and i have seen a few on here so im sure some will know the net im talking of. this net could be seen on a dark night, there was no way you was going to trip up over this once you have been out in the dark awhile and your eyes have climatised. i imagaine these to be more likely to be noticed but mine still caught and held. it was a poor net because of the mesh size but rabbits did hit it and the proof was all the sections that had to be cut out due to bite holes left in there... it di
  8. mr wilkes has a picture of a rabbit in a black net caught last season (i think). somebody said there not the best but i would use it no broblem.. on a black night with no moon and a bunny with poor eyes to start with, will not see it imo when its bum hole is nipping as it legs it for home..
  9. cant beat a nice double knitt net.. but thats twice the weight
  10. i once seen a rabbit leave the warren at speed after it got chased by my ferret. it was in tree roots and i could not get all nets down so i stood in the rivers edge directly in front of a hole 3/4 ft up the banking so to catch my ferret if it decided to leave that way.. the rabbit bolted and i caught it, it was going to land in the river so that one must have thought it could swim
  11. i would prefer a net others might not notice...lol
  12. i try set mine every 5 yds. im not perfect i get it wrong well at least once a season... i dont use quickset but i have tried it and was not very keen on it. i would have thought on a quickset it might be a little better to have the poles closer than 7 yds as you cant throw an extra loop to tighten the top line unless your net is set high.. closer poles to my mind would make less sag in the top line. for my money i think i need more poles if i was buying a new system..
  13. 14 poles on a 100 yd net? that cant be correct can it?
  14. i like a 4z net as i dont mind pulling the crap out.. what size mesh is the 6z and was the heads going through the mesh
