    Recently, have seen some very nice bull crosses on here, to look at, but still haven't looked at, seen, or witnessed ANY first crosses to match a first x D/.G

    know how you feel mate new years resolution to myself this year was to get out more daytime with the dog,so far so good Sounds good to me. lol. Think this coming season I'll leave the lamping to the boy, he's keen as mustard and I couldn't keep up with him, besides, I'm enjoying actually seeing more, instead of just something at the end of the beam .

    Agree with a lot of that. Most of the land round my way is made up of fairly small, tight fields and you need a dog which is quicker off the mark than most first x D/G. A mate of mine, in south wales, worked and bred them for a number of years, but had to travel a long way to work the land that suited them, and although they did catch a few rabbits, it was at larger quarry that they excelled, and one in paticular was literally jaw dropping to watch! Very capable dogs and pleasing dogs on the right land

    Not overly keen on bull crosses myself, but she is a very nice animal . Last couple of years been doing more in the early mornings, as it takes me 2 days to get over a good lamping session, age thing :blush:

    They are massivly underrated mate!I wouldn't be without mine, he's a nose like a blood hound, and balls the size of house bricks . Seen many at work over the years that most people would be over the moon to own, if they were prepared to drop their egos!

    Well the dam was 22tt and sire 26, but I've know parents of the same height to throw out a pup of 27tt ? My bitch's dam is first x D/G 26.5" tts and sire is first x C/G 25" tts, my bitch was already 28" tts at 9 months old, 3 wks ago. Her height doesn't affect her agility or picking up in the slightest. She's more agile/athletic than a couple of my mate's dogs and one is 24.5 tts and the other is 26 tts. Wouldn't worry too much about height unless you just plan on ferreting. . Should've added by ' picking up' I meant dummies etc, not rabbits. She won't be tried for a good while yet, st

    Well done for not getting a pup with no bull in it. Really don't see the point of em. Never had em years ago, and still don't see the point in em, ( for normal lurcher work ) , unless just digging, which they are very suited to. Plenty of other types/crosses are far more suitable for everything else. A l b with your pup

    LOL Yeah I know. What bugs me is the fact that I was catching rabbits etc, when the nearest most of the gobby twats on here got near to any rabbits were the ones on their pyjamas! I am new to ferreting so not going to pretend to say the same. It would be fun to actually know the truth on how much people catch. I will never go out to get more than my family and animals can eat.     Tell me what's wrong with looking at someone's profile then. I thought the idea of people putting their profiles up on this site was for others to maybe get a bit of that persons interests etc. Maybe I'm wrong Some people are afraid that you might find out they are doing things they shouldn't be doing You can look at my profile all you want I'm scared to now in case I get picked on! lol

    I've ran and used most types of running dogs over the years, both purebreds and crosses, to catch all sorts of quarry, especially edible stuff, and have my own preferences. Just interested as to what types you guys would choose, and why? Not looking for what you think is the best for specialsed tasks, just personal preferences.
