Well done for not getting a pup with no bull in it. Really don't see the point of em. Never had em years ago, and still don't see the point in em, ( for normal lurcher work ) , unless just digging, which they are very suited to. Plenty of other types/crosses are far more suitable for everything else. A l b with your pup

LOL Yeah I know. What bugs me is the fact that I was catching rabbits etc, when the nearest most of the gobby twats on here got near to any rabbits were the ones on their pyjamas! I am new to ferreting so not going to pretend to say the same. It would be fun to actually know the truth on how much people catch. I will never go out to get more than my family and animals can eat. Hope you enjoy the forum for what it is. There are plenty of people on here that actually give some good advice. Not to mention their stories are good too. Tell me what's wrong with looking at someone's profile then. I thought the idea of people putting their profiles up on this site was for others to maybe get a bit of that persons interests etc. Maybe I'm wrong Some people are afraid that you might find out they are doing things they shouldn't be doing You can look at my profile all you want I'm scared to now in case I get picked on! lol

I've ran and used most types of running dogs over the years, both purebreds and crosses, to catch all sorts of quarry, especially edible stuff, and have my own preferences. Just interested as to what types you guys would choose, and why? Not looking for what you think is the best for specialsed tasks, just personal preferences.

I've owned and seen purebred whippets chase and catch rabbits into and through some unbelievably thick cover/brambles without seeming to hardly slow down. Also seen em kill rats as quick or quicker than most terriers and tackle practically anything that moves! I honestly think that most people who say whippets are fragile, weak or not game or need a terrier or whatever crossed into it have never even seen a good whippet at work. Properly bred, sensibly entered whippets will outwork most lurchers at the majority of tasks that the most lurchers are put to. I've kept running dogs of most typ

Will be running a c/g x d/g from next season, as at the moment she's only 7 months. Chose this type as the ones that I've seen have been very good all rounders ( day and night ), with one or two of them being exceptional on certain quarry. Will put up pics when I've resized em. Pics of my pup, I hasten to add!

I've got one. Dam is first x D/G, sire is first x C/G. Both worked regular and taking all quarry day and night. She 7 months old on the 21st. She 26" tts now, easy to train, bright ,agile, fast and getting stronger by the day. She's the most promising pup I've had. I'm quite pleased with her. Will get some pics up soon.
