Well, when I say birch, it were more the cat o nine, but with the speed we were thrashed, it caught the light and appeared silver, and to be honest, at that point we were so delirious with agony it could easily have been a birch, cat o nine, cutlass, ANYTHING!! The good old days, eh!!
