  1. Sadly, there'll be plenty more of that this summer. Blacky, as kids none of us really know too much. But there are plenty of dog owners that are far from being kids, well, I know that's debatable lol, but there are many many running dog owners these days that will be getting their 'machines' on the go already in preparation for the coming season ?
  2. Lol exactly. Yeah certainly, keep your dog 'relatively' fit, but like you say, when I read some of the fitness regimes on here, well, it leaves me scratching my head in puzzlement! Lol ?
  3. Yes I understand that mate, but all this biking for miles, free running for 30 -60 mins and roadwalking for 5 miles or whatever, is certainly not needed in the middle of summer. I know you didn't say it, but there'll be more than a few on here already doing it ?
  4. Not cut anywhere near me either. Was just reacting to the op post about first corn cut lol
  5. Yep, now the first corn's been cut, you'll see a plethora of newbies doing upwards of a 100 miles a week roadwork, biking etc, just steady like to start, then a few weeks after that 'the challenges' will start ?
  6. Don't know why people on here keep on starting to improve their dogs fitness in the middle of summer. f***ing madness. Within the next couple of weeks it'll be 'I'm biking my dog for 5 miles, free running for 30 minutes and roadwalking 5 miles, start him off steady'. Steady?! f***ing madness!!
  7. Looks pretty bad that mate. How long ago was it, and did she make a full recovery?
  8. And I'd still walk out without a lamp, just to see what my dog fetched back to me. Love it, even more so without a lamp
  9. Honestly king, I really am not one for the lamp. But when I used to go regularly, I could tell what was in front of me by the way the dog was behaving, before I turned the lamp on
  10. But you'll also get people saying they have big, strong, robustly built dogs that hardly ever have injuries, even after they've had a good few bumps whilst working. When people tell me that, I just think their dog couldn't be that fast, and/or didn't hit any object hard enough. Watch people's reaction to this post now A W lol ?
  11. A 70-80 lb dog is going to have a lot more stress and strain on it's joints etc, than a 30-40 lb dog. And obviously, when bigger dogs hit something running at roughly the same speed as the smaller dogs, they hit it with a lot more force and impact, resulting in more damage ?. All the smaller dogs I've owned have suffered less injuries than my bigger dogs ?
  12. I think exactly that. In my experience, bigger dogs have far more injuries than smaller, lighter dogs. Shoulders, toes, ligaments etc, not rips or tears like you say ?
  13. Should've had it on the rats at 7 WEEKS, build it's confidence ☺
  14. The heat is indeed buckling my mind fella. But it must've also buckled yours. You won't see me digging any holes ?
  15. If you're dead set against going to hancock, and don't want the hassle of breeding your own, then you might have to settle for something that isn't 'just' collie/grey. Unless you search a bit harder.
  16. Pair of belters there phil. They ok on feather too?
  17. Not a fan of really tight beams myself. Seen some very narrow escapes ?
  18. The results would probably have come about sooner, if some of those owner/breeders hadn't culled half their original litters ?
  19. But do you need a blitz just to lamp bunnies?! ?
  20. That makes them just terriers then
  21. You saying bedlingtons are a tad too large?
