    Haven't run the dogs down. Some of them look good, solid dogs, but so were hundreds of other lurchers around at the same time. Just don't see what's so special about em. And why would I take him up on the challenge, when I have no interest in competing with someone?

    What for? And if I recall properly, was it only one fella that accepted the challenge with his collie/grey, and beat him? Sounds like the guy had egotistical problems to me, throwing out silly challenges like that. Not everyone is/was into numbers, and not everyone is/was gullible enough to believe all the bullshit, me certainly being one of them. There were plenty of lurcher to lurcher bred dogs around then, that no- one really knew the real, never mind exact, breeding of. To me minshaws were just another case of exactly that

    Top pedigree, saxon = saluki/greyhound. And last paragraph, joe says that bull x and coursing lines can be traced back on both sides for five generations, without question. And where did I say nipper the coursing dog was in the pedigree? Plenty of dogs have been called nipper, including many many terriers. I was onto my second lurcher when that silly f***ing challenge was written in the shooting news. I think I'd rather believe joe ox's words than yours, you clown ?

    Here goes, tin hat firmly on ?. My answer = they were all as bad as each other, and ENGLISH, I need say no more ? By the way chartski, you can't go using words like 'rhetorical' on here.     Lol I always used to think, if my ex brother in law put his dog back to another 1st x whippet/greyhound I would definitely have taken a pup on. His old dog had plenty of good qualities, great nose, cracking coat, good feet, quick, agile and intelligent. But he did have that headstrong, stubborn streak lol. But I think if he'd have been a bit more consistent etc with his early training, he'd have been a far more useful dog ?
