Cant remember who i had a debate with now but they changed there mind. I think the topic was "Does Swampy start shit threads"? Someone i know told me he was ferreting years ago when he bolted a stoat from a small hole, his ferret then brought out a tiny stoat which was still alive. He got it home and managed to rear it up with the ferrets but i'm not sure what age it was? He was shutting his ferret hutch 1 night and the door jammed so he gave it a wee push and the stoat tried to get out and he squashed it. He was gutted.

Going to say something along the same lines mate. Glad the style thing worked for you mate but he probably doesn't even need that. It sounds like he is just wanting to play so when he is returning just walk away and pay him no attention until he comes to heel, then slip your hand down and take the dummy. After that lots of praise and a treat. You can gradually stop walking away after a while.

Depends what you are going to use it for? If you are looking for a dog to go beating then a springer or cocker would be a good choice and if you are wanting a dog for picking up then a lab or retriever would be my choice.

Colour is not an issue really. Working dogs should be always kept outside in a kennel. I dont suppose it achieves anything, but this is a hunting forum afterall(sometimes i wonder) and people like to hunt illegal stuff and if they want to do that then good on them. Its not there fault that theres a ban and there sport has been taken for them but its down to this "lie back and take it" attitude that it exists in the first place. What i like to do and what i publish on a public forum have very little relation to each other.
